The village of Hartford can be traced back to the Doomsday Book of 1086, when the Manor was held by Gilbert de Venables, part of the Barony of Kinderton. Over the centuries the land of Hartford was divided up, with eleven families owning different areas. However by the 18th century Lord Delamere owned most of the village.

So rude, cold and terrible service, beer was awful and the staff were so rude. Its such a shame considering Hartford is such a lovely place. What a shame.

Probably the best pub in Mid Cheshire. Good beer good fires and a great welcome from the landlady and staff. Pub quiz Tuesdays .Secluded beer garden nice in Summer.
