Sunshine Nursery School

We are a professional, experienced team who offer a homely, exciting nursery experience to all children. We provide outstanding education through play and work to excellent standards to ensure that each child feels safe, happy and valued. We are registered through Ofsted for children up to 8 years old, term-time only with the extension of a fun holiday club.

We are very proud of our highly qualified, experienced and well balanced team. Our role is to encourage, support and facilitate each child's natural learning and consider ourselves positive role models. At Sunshine we provide a minimum of 1, often 2 or 3 staff above the ratio at any one time.

We also have a number of staff able to cover in emergencies or trips who are familiar to the children, our philosophies, routines and parents to minimise the use of unknown agency staff.We have our own apprenticeship programme and also encourage students from a variety of schools and colleges to carry out their placements with us.

A supervised, planned activity based on our theme, the children's individual targets, interests and also an area of development from the Early Years Foundation Stage. The children can choose what they would like to do, when and for how long by exploring their nursery space either on their own or with their friends.

There are a variety of fun and interactive activities run by the same staff your children play with during term-time. We create a balance for the children to be able to have a relaxed and quiet time or as busy a time as they choose. Although there is a routine, it is more flexible and adaptable to the daily choices and balance of the children attending.

We include you as parents in all decisions regarding your child's development, achievements, interactions, behaviour and discipline. We communicate with you on a daily basis regarding particular things your child has done or of any incidents and offer a private confidential meeting with your child's key-person each term.
