I've been a driving instructor in Basingstoke since 1987. Most people taking driving lessons with me are learners, but I also offer refresher lessons (for those who feel a little rusty), motorway tuition, and the Pass Plus course. I try hard to be punctual, patient, and professional, and make learning to drive as stress free as possible. It can even be fun sometimes!

Do you really know your triangular signs from your round ones? Or your stopping distances in the wet and dry? If you're ready for your theory test you should be able to answer most of these questions. It's a declaration that your car isn't being used on the road - so you don't have to pay vehicle tax.
You will need to provide a car when you take your driving test. This will usually be your driving instructor's car, but you can use your own. Driving time on your test will be around 35 to 40 minutes; the total time slot is 57 minutes. There may be (rarely - don't worry) a second examiner sitting in the back to check your examiner.
Manufacturer's guide, use a reliable pressure gauge, check and adjust pressures when tyres are cold, don't forget spare tyre, remember to refit valve caps. The head restraint should be adjusted so the rigid part of the head restraint is at least as high as the eye or top of the ears, and as close to the back of the head as is comfortable.
Official figures suggest that you will need an average of 47 hours of professional lessons with an additional 20 hours of practise with a friend or family member. This will vary a lot depending on the individual. For example, some learners can't practise with a friend or family member. Over the years many Wayfarer learners have needed a lot less than 47 hours to pass - and some needed a few more.
