Oakley Hall dates back to 1795 and has links to the celebrated novelist Jane Austen who lived in the nearby village of Steventon. Over the years, the Georgian manor house has been used as a boarding school and solely as a wedding and conference venue. However, in 2014, a major 4 million restoration project saw Oakley Hall restored to the magnificent country house hotel you see today.
From discounts on decadent dining to special offers on overnight stays, there are plenty of deals to be had at our hotel in the Hampshire countryside. Be sure to check out our ever-popular Bombay Sapphire Getaway which includes dinner, bed and breakfast plus a trip to the distillery. Enjoy a refreshing glass of Pimms on our Garden Terrace, a delicious three-course dinner and a night away with this overnight package.

Stayed several times on business before, but this is the first time for leisure.
Room 48 up two flights of stairs (lift available), gives a great view of the grounds.
Wife's first visit to the hotel and she was impressed.
Knocked down 1 star because website and photos say luxury bathroom items, but shower gel / shampoo not in bottles but attached to the wall. So not totally as described

First time visit and it won’t be the last! The afternoon tea was lovely and accommodated veggies. My wife is pregnant and phoned before hand to make sure we were outside because of covid and to have the salad removed from sandwiches which they were more than happy to do. On arrival the staff were great, friendly and showed us to our seats outside. The grounds were well kept up and great for an afternoon walk before stopping off at the bar for a pint or two. Brilliant day out.

The food was fantastic, everything on the day was perfect, the staff are second to none!
The rooms are clean and comfortable. Breakfast was lovely.
Throughout nothing has been too much.
Thank you for your help and support thorough the pandemic, 3 date changes and we finally got there. ❤️

Stayed a few nights in a four poster suite. Expensive but beautiful. Enormous very comfortable bed. Spacious sitting area. Dark curtains helped with sleeping in.
Plenty of elec plugs. Impossible to connect tablet to tv.
Big nicely laid out separate dressing room. Don't know why we don't see this in more upscale hotels. Spacious well laid out bath.
Pretty view from room. Lots of parking, but over dusty entrance drive.
Lift slow and creaky creepy but always got us there, usually complaining along the way. Dinner in the restaurant was fine, though there was only one other couple in

Tell anyone that you're going to a hotel near Basingstoke for a romantic break & most people will ask you why. They don't know what they're missing out on.
I had planned an event as a surprise for my wife that was due to take place in Basingstoke. It therefore made sense for me to book a room at least for one night. Once I started looking at prices & locations (some hotels looked like they were on industrial sites) I decided to pay a little more & use the hotel stay as a smokescreen for the real treat.
I got a good deal through Expedia &, whilst it was on the

Attended the summer ball at Oakley hall, amazing venue, decorated beautifully with lovely grounds. The food was delicious (Brie parcels, pork and shortbread). The entertainment was great and I would definitely recommend this as a venue, it is stunning and there were a few hundred people at the event and they handled it effortlessly!
Edit:
Was taken here in June for the prosecco afternoon tea- absolutely beautiful and I would definitely recommend! We went on a week day so it was quiet, photos attached
