I must start off by saying, the staff are absolutely fantastic and made my stay enjoyable.
The reception, bar and eating area are very well maintained and set out. But that's about all there is.
Walking to the rooms takes you back to the 1980's, where carpets and hallways smell musty and of damp. Rooms are very minimal and out dated. Mould and damp patches on the ceiling and walls near windows and ceiling panels. Unfortunately the carpet hadn't been cleaned upon arrival. Holes in the bathroom door that had been filled in and sanded down. 50% of the lights in the room don't work.
The bed was

If there were an option for 0 stars........ I still wouldn't give it that! When we arrived I was sure we'd entered a high rise block of flats. To be fair the reception looked okay and the young woman was very polite, but that's where the good bit's and the one star i awarded it finish.
After walking along dank smelling corridors, with stained ceiling tiles, i arrived at my room........ It didn't even resemble that of the pictures advertised and already had multiple occupants in the way of big black spiders. There were cobwebs in the corners of the room and all over the windows, which suggests

Hotel was good, although room for family was small as they kept a folding bed in the middle of the bed and dressing table, leaving no space to walk around. Also the restaurant during dinner could hardly cope with just about 5 tables full..... food was good, but service was not.

Nice hotel. Positives: Good staff, very nice bar and lounge. Gym good too. Breakfast options very varied. But the room, especially the bathroom, was very tired looking and the tap and sink were faulty. Didn't detract at all but can't quite give it 5 stars. Would definitely stay there again though

We booked a break with the family as part of a weekend at Paultons Park. The hotel was clean and of a good standard, the location was good and the meal in the restaurant in the evening was exceptional value for money. The thing that impressed me most was that service from every member of staff we encountered. Friendly, welcoming and could not be more helpful. They made the stay really special for the kids, engaging with them, asking them about their day and making sure they had what they wanted. Of particular note was a young lady called Louise in the restaurant who literally could not have done

At the Apollo hotel as I write this we are currently in our third room having been allocated 2 previous rooms only to find neither had been cleaned and the room we are currently in had no towels.
This is rated as a 4 star hotel and I find it astonishing that it has even achieved a 1 star given our experience.
My advice would be to steer well clear even if this means spending more , avoid the stress and enjoy your stay elsewhere

Great staff and nice food, the only letdown was room cleanliness.
Mega dust behind radiators, under pull out bed along with a large toe nail clipping, a half used shampoo sachet and the complementary biscuits opened and a half of one eaten.
A bit more effort on room cleanliness and it could merit it's 4 star rating.

The staff at Apollo Hotel Basingstoke are kind, considerate, courteous, professional and friendly. They go the extra mile to help make our stays comfortable.
The rooms are squeaky clean! I do not get to sleep well away from home, but at the Apollo Hotel Basingstoke, the beds are comfortable and help me get a good nights sleep. My stays at Apollo Hotel are good value for money paid.

I stayed in this hotel after booking an overnight stay with the local theme park Legoland. When we got to the hotel, myself my wife and 9 year old daughter were very pleased with the overall facilities available. The staff were always accommodating and nothing was too much hassle at all. The food from the bar was reasonably priced as far as hotels go and the room was spotless. The breakfast was plentiful and of a very good quality. If I'm ever staying in the area again I will definitely be looking at staying here again.
