The Clan MacDuff Hotel's origins started in 1963 when the Fyfe family bought a small 2 acre croft and opened. The Clan Macduff is a friendly, family run hotel sitting right on the banks of the picturesque Loch Linnhe, just on the edge of the Outdoor Capital of the UK, Fort William.
Our wonderful food, very comfortable accommodation, and the personal approach of our experienced team will ensure your stay here in the highlands is everything you wished it would be.Charming place with lovely food and people. Had the mussels for dinner, a whisky tasting, their macduff lager was very nice, and the smoked haddock for breakfast was excellent.

This area is packed with so much to do, if you have the time we recommend a minimum of two full days to get a feel for the area. Fort William is located on the West Coast of Scotland, 75 miles from Inverness Airport and 99 miles from Glasgow airport.
We would love it if you could stay longer; therefore we are giving a free bottle of wine with every booking if you stay 3 nights or more (booked directly). All you need to do is book via our online booking page and quote 'complimentary wine' in the box. Please phone on 01397 702341 if availability is not shown or if you have any problem with the online booking system.

Terrible. We were recommended to eat here because our B&B didn't offer food on Sunday nights. We were not welcome. There was no positivity in the staff and no checking to see how we were or how the food was. The food was sub par and after a complainf about a dessert we were told that it was the one we ordered. No acknowledgement of the complaint. Our coats were taken off us and at the end we were told the door to where they were was open and we could help ourselves. We were made to accept a booking at 6pm with the impression that they didn't have any other time slots and yet the restaurant was

This was my first experience at this hotel and was very pleasant. First & foremost, I want to say that these folks have great etiquette and superb morals. We had booked 2 rooms for 3 nights and had to leave a day earlier due to unforeseen circumstances. They could see that we were all stressed out and did not question us once. We were given a full refund for that one extra day, despite the booking being non-refundable. This simply says that these folks are not just after making money.
Now to the other great things about our stay. The breakfast was excellent and all COVID regulations were followed

The breakfasts are good but the food in general isn't that great, balsamic vinegar seems to be a popular choice with whoever cooks the food which absolutely ruins the taste as far as I'm concerned. My other half tells me the house wine is good. The music in the dining room is too loud, you can't hear yourself think for caterwauling singing which you can't escape, there are speakers in every corner and on every column, totally inappropriate.
In general, the hotel is nice but overpriced, like most hotels at present (Aug 2021). Our room was small, very clean, beds are too narrow but the wonderful

Just finishing a five night stay.
A wonderful family run hotel with friendly helpful staff for whom nothing is too much trouble.
The restaurant serves a great breakfast with plenty of variety and likewise the evening meals are great value and excellent quality. Both are top quality and served piping hot.
The rooms and bathrooms are spacious and spotlessly clean and having been here at least four times previously this hotel never fails to deliver quality and service.
Can't wait to come back!

We had a good experience here. We were on a road trip so parking was a big priority for us and this place has a huge parking lot right next to the entrance. The location was excellent, centrally located just outside of town and a short drive to Glenfinnan, Ben Nevis and Glencoe. Our room had an amazing view of the loch across the street that was absolutely beautiful. The staff was great, room was clean, the property was well maintained and the restaurant was excellent.

A wonderful place to spend the night and prepare for exploring the Heberdes, Loch Ness, or Stirling. Rooms are functional but are affordable. The restaurant was wonderful and the service was great too.
Make sure you request two beds on your reservation if you require that arrangement as the hotel was completely full on my visit and they didnt want to accomodate that request until they had discovered we had indeed included that on our reservation.
The setting overlooking Loch Linhe is truly spectacular.
Recommend for this hotel.

I kinda wanted to give this place a better final score. The staff are nice and hospitable, and the prices are definitely reasonable. It's a fairly large hotel amongst the many B&Bs outside of Fort William.
Our rooms are a little noisy until 10pm or so. We asked for a room with a view and ended up with half of one obscured by the lounge/bar building. Room is compact but serviceable. The common rooms, however, are very relaxing to just sit and enjoy the Loch in the setting/morning sun. Nautical maps abound, and there are a couple of topological maps if you are considering a walk in the

The Clan MacDuff is a 3* hotel which is sat on the banks facing the Loch.
The hotel is located only a few minutes walk away from Fort William.
It is a good local hotel and is run by dedicated people who really seem to care about giving you the best service possible.
It could do with modernising somewhat thou I suppose this is probably the norm for most hotels like this which are away from any big cities and it probably suited the majority of the guests who were pensioners. Apart from the pensions there were a couple of families and hikers.
The bar and breakfast room were on the front of the building
