Sleepy Hollow follows its own unique pedagogy. We are playwork passionate, following the playwork principles, as well as being inspired by the Reggio Emilia Approach. We have been fortunate to have had three of our team out at International Study Groups in Reggio Emilia in 2016, 2017 and 2018.
Whilst loose parts and natural environments are becoming the norm in early years settings now, it is important to understand how this fits in with your organisation's pedagogy.We have had to adapt aspects from both playwork and Reggio Emilia to fit with our own needs in Sleepy Hollow, so we have added just a sprinkle from the Curiosity Approach to come up with our own unique pedagogy which we call Sleepy Hollow Inspired.

Sleepy Hollow is Northern Irelands largest childcare company. It has been established for 29 years but was bought by the current owners, Nikolai and Diane Koplewsky, in 2001. Back in 2001 Sleepy Hollow was registered for 35 children. Over the past 19 years has grown to a chain registered for 545 children across 16 different sites.
Our primary aim is to create a professional working environment where we both endeavour to inspire and to be inspired by our colleagues. Sleepy Hollow Group is NI's largest childcare providers and amongst our many awards and achievements we hold Investors in People accreditation amongst our most prized.
We are extremely proud of our brand, and happily share this with others in the sector whom we network with. We have spent many hours giving people tours of our wraparound units, our nursery or even advice over the phone. We firmly believe that for the greater good of our sector it is best practice that there is openness and transparency amongst early years and playwork settings.
Following Reggio Emilia pedagogy we in using every part of the child's experience including their environment to learn and grow through curiosity and discovery Children follow their own routines and we work closely in partnership with parents to ensure that we are following parental requests. Plenty of natural light, space, wooden toys, loose parts and access to open ended play resources.
We aim to provide quality affordable childcare which can be accessed by all members of our community. In order to do so we keep our prices competitive, offer flexibility and promote the use of childcare vouchers as a means of payment whereby parents can save money on their childcare costs. We offer spaces to children in a fair and unbiased manner.
