Food was superb but the service wasn't great. We waited a while for our drinks order. We also had to repeatedly ask for water for the table over the course of about 40 minutes before it was eventually brought over. The wrong starter was brought to the table but despite asking several members of staff if they could come and see to us once they had a moment, we went unnoticed for 20 minutes before someone came to see what the issue was. I appreciate it was busy but they were not lacking in staff. Will be going again as the food was great (the salmon was beautiful) but hope the service improves.

We went to The Fishpool on Sunday as a couple for a birthday meal. The place is really nice and has a good atmosphere. The staff were attentive and the service was very smooth. However, I opted for a starter (goats cheese) that The Fishpool had shared on social media the day before as it looked very tasty! But when it came it looked nothing like the picture they had posted and I was very disappointed. It was as if they had run out of some of the ingredients? My husband's starter was lovely and the rest of the meal was good.

We went on Boxing Day and everything was perfect and absolutely flawless. The welcome, the personal service we received from Ben, the food , the atmosphere. On Boxing Day when in other places it may have been chaotic-this was a perfectly run pub. Credit to you all. Dad and I had a lovely time and can’t thank you enough.

Went her with my Mum a few weeks ago. Nice pub both outside and inside. In the entrance, they had a really big Christmas tree. There is also a nice fire there - to keep you warm. Friendly staff.
We shared the garlic flatbread which tasted good - nice and garlic-y! For mains, I have the slow-cooked shoulder of lamb, fondant potato, roast hispi cabbage, caramelised onion purée and sticky lamb jus. Really tasty lamb - its one of those where the meat is all taken off the bone and it comes to you almost like a "block" of lamb. That probably does not sound that appetising but not sure how

Absolutely fabulous. We had a block booking of 14 and submitted our food order 3 days before. Upon arrival the Christmas decorations was stunning and made a fantastic backdrop for our photographs which the staff were only too pleased to help with. The Christmas menu was a reasonable price however I did think the price for alcohol was a bit expensive. The food itself was top draw and and was delivered without a hitch because of the pre-order. Top marks to the professionalism of the staf and we will be booking Christmas next year again as well as other occasions throughout the year.
Thank you

Cocktail was nice. Drove over an hour here with my partner, child and parents. My parents were raving about this place but when we arrived we requested my child's meal come out first. From time of order we waited 1 hour for childrens chicken nuggets as they forgot his meal. The whole table had eaten before his meal even came out so we all had to share our plates with him. Forgetting a child's meal is a bit unacceptable. My dad also had to send back his fish back as it wasn't cooked on the inside. We were all really disappointed considering the drive plus my parents were so excited to take us here

Absolutely AMAZING we stayed near by and popped in on the first night and it was amazing. The staff are friendly helpfull and so lovely. The food is next level and among some of the best I've had. Although we live 4 hours away we will be coming back for the amazing atmosphere and food. Top restaurant. We will be back 😍

Popped in by chance after looking at a local wedding venue and we were totally blown away! Doesn't look that impressive from outside but inside is amazing! Lots of quirky decor which is backed up by friendly staff, amazing food and good drinks. Be warned though the menu looks so good you'll want to try it all so you won't just go there the once! We will be back next time driving this way 😁

Arrived expecting the old cosy pub that it once was, but found the place has been completely revamped - like so many places in Cheshire in the last ten years. But it does look good...no doubt about that. Classy interior in beautiful surroundings. Lucky to get a table as well as people were being turned away when we left. Should book in advance.
It says it's a pub, but it's not. It's a restaurant. If you're expected to tip, it's a restaurant in my books. Service was good and the food was alright. I ordered a cajun chicken baguette, but it had way too much oil on it and I

First of all this pub has been completely redone with a traditional wood interior - big fireplaces, comfy high backed chairs, the whole deal. The food is extremely high quality - not the cheap deep fried fare that you will find in most pubs. I highly recommend their crab and langustine starter followed by the lamb shank with layered potato square and vegetables - absolutely delicious washed down with a nice cabernet or even chardonnay depending on your preference.
Interesting note - in the gents toilet they have those little spy holes with photos of vintage naked ladies behind them - a surprisingly

Great food, bad services, we had reserved a table for 5pm and told we had to be gone for 7pm, we ordered at 5:15 and got the food at 6:15, it took us best part of an hour to eat and then we ordered deserts and it took 30 minutes to arrive, this meant that we were 45 minutes over the quoted time. The staff were rushing us alot by trying to take out plates away when we were trying to eat. Over all the service was awful but the food was brilliant.
