The architectural character of Stanley House suggests that it was built for a manorial gentry family in the first half of the 17th Century. As such it would have been designed to provide that level of hospitality deemed fit or appropriate to such social status in that period. The published and documentary records indicate that it was the manor house of Mellor until Woodfold Hall was built circa 1799.

Booked for an overnight spa experience. The Spa was immaculate, all spa staff were welcoming and friendly. The thermal experience was explained to us and our treatment was lovely. Our room was in The Manor House it was spotless and had everything we needed. Food was great, came out within a reasonable time, hot and tasty. Breakfast was lovely too. All staff were amazing and couldn't do enough for us. Really happy and would recommend!

Nice location with plenty of parking.
Our room was clean but very hot, luckily we found a fan to cool us.
Spa was well organised with friendly staff.
Dinner was a bit of a saga, the poor waiter was rushed off his feet but nothing seemed to be too much trouble for him,
Food tasted ok, we got the wrong side orders and then overcharged on our checkout bill, which was rectified.
Breakfast was good.
All customer facing staff seemed friendly and professional.
Our room was clean but very hot, luckily we found a fan to cool us.

Very clean and well presented premise, rooms very nice and modern. We booked in the spa and throughly enjoyed the experience, supported by very helpful staff. Our package included evening meal and breakfast, the evening meal was very tasty, although service was a little slow and a bit pricey for what was delivered. Breakfast was well organised with a wide variety of options catering for multiple preferences. Staff at all times very polite and accommodating.

I can’t express my gratitude to this hotel for making my son’s wedding so perfect. It is a stunning hotel, with luxurious rooms. Not only was the food amazing, but the staff were impeccable and incredibly professional. I send a huge thank you to Joe, our main host, who is so dedicated to ensuring that guests feel special and happy that he made this a day to remember. He is a huge credit to the hotel, and I’ve never experienced such outstanding customer service in any of the 5* hotels I’ve visited anywhere before. Thank you Stanley House for hosting this event! 💕
