First Class service from Fellows. I bidded on a pair of earrings for my wife's birthday, which was a couple of days after the auction ended (I know, cutting it fine). I phoned Fellows to enquire whether the earrings could be posted at the earliest opportunity. They were very accommodating and stated they would do their best. Sure enough, within 24hrs the earrings arrived. They were expertly wrapped and exactly as described, very happy indeed. I have no problems recommending Fellows and will certainly use them again. Many thanks 👍😊

Fantastic experience from start to finish, highly professional and knowledgable staff who answered every query immediately and engaged in friendly communication. Very fast delivery with beautiful packaging. End result is a delighted customer who now owns a beautiful 1940s ring. I’ll be back!! Thank you!

Everything works fine until the hammer goes down. At least international customers should be very careful; delivery/shipment is not aligned to their needs. Questions via eMail after the payment were not answered; the service is very poor; all the automated and meaningless eMail notifications are annoying in case the paid delivery is lost in Transit in Langley for several weeks.

I have been a buyer at Fellows for over 30 years. They are as honest as the day is long, fully transparent in their dealings and very knowledgeable. On the very rare occasion when something has gone wrong, they will do their best to resolve the matter, including giving refunds if necessary.
I have just by chance come across the 1 star review left by Cecile MC and would like to comment. Now, I'm sure Fellows can stand up for themselves, but nevertheless I would like to offer my support on this occasion as I also own 2 Raffaterre Plaques: Depending on the piece, these plaques can be very fragile

I love browsing the Fellows jewellery auctions for unique pieces at great prices. I have bid on the timed auctions and live auctions on Fellows website (as there is no additional fee to pay to the multi-auction websites).
I also like the bid calculator which allows you to work out the overall cost of the bid, including fees and VAT. There is also the ability to set a budget for the auction to monitor the overall spend. This is very open and responsible.
The payment and postage process is smooth and effortless, particularly in comparison with other auctioneers.

Beware, if your selling gold you probably wont even get the scrap value and sell 10% less than reserve. They charge you 20% of the sales fee. Here's one we weren't told before we put the items in, if you take items out of the auction they charge you for withdrawing them, just had to pay over £500 GBP to withdraw a couple of watches, when I told them that I wasn't ware of the withdrawal charge, other than a £30 GBP reduction still had to pay. Will never sell through them again

I bid on 1000s and win approx 100 diamond rings a year from dozens of different auction houses. ( I am a vintage ring dealer)
I have experienced all of the negative issues associated with auctions as well as some very positive experiences.
Unlike the vast majority of auctions, Fellows describe every element of their jewellery in detail and will list faults. This is what gives them their edge over the competition.
Sadly however that sense of security pushes the bids and estimates up higher than other auctions selling similar pieces.

This is the worst, most unprofessional auction house I have ever used. I'm 42 and have purchased items in hundreds of auctions. These people are just unscrupulous, and dishonest. The website is confusing when you try to register...telling you after you register that you will be able to bid in their auctions. Then if you wait until the day of the auction to bid, you find that you can't, until you send two forms of id. No auction house should EVER need two forms of id, and if so they should tell you upon registering to bid!!! Fellows needs to reevaluate themselves and figure out

This is how an auction house should be. Family-run, specialist staff, a charismatic and scrupulous principal, well advertised sales on which it is easy to bid and a pragmatic approach to everything. My businesses have bought and sold through Fellows for decades, and recommended them many times. Consider the care with which they try to describe high value watches, diamonds and jewellery — it is an impressive operation.

Absolutely over the top Customer Service!
I live in Las Vegas Nevada US and have been doing business with Fellows for about a year now as a buying customer and I must say that they have provided me with the best auction experiences that I have ever had both here in the US and abroad. I have never seen such transparency in a lot description as with Fellows. Even if there is a hairline scratch that can't be seen without a 10 mag loupe, they will disclose it in the listing description. No other auction house that I have done business with (and I have done so with hundreds of them around the globe

One thing you must do in your life-time is visit an auction. Whether you're a serious buyer or seller these places are fascinating. I had the opportunity of visiting Fellows with a friend who's into this sort of thing and I was impressed with the professionalism of how things are done. Quite traditional, using techniques of old to sell all manner of things called "lots". In the catalog on today's visit were old watches, antique clocks, framed pictures, furniture, jewellery, the book was full of interesting things. It's exciting stuff when the auction is in full swing
