Wow!! What an amazing little cottage. We loved our time at Bramble Cottage. The owners have literally thought about everything to make it comfortable stay. The interiors and design is done to a superbly high spec, including a lovely little ‘welcome package’ of food and drink- this was such a nice touch. The location is perfect for day trips and walks to pretty little nearby villages. We had a perfect week here creating happy memories with our little family. We will definitely be coming back to visit Bramble Cottage again soon!

We stayed at Dolly’s Plaice in Fowey recently. The apartment, which is beautifully furnished, is situated on the ground floor of a large property. Unfortunately, the anti-social behaviour of the people in the… apartment above - who are residents, not holiday tenants - caused problems on the very first night. These individuals played loud music late into the night which resulted in an altercation and subsequent Police involvement. It would also seem that there have been previous incidents at this property (the owner refused to disclose details when requested afterwards) Anyone considering

A terrible experience, one where we ended up feeling trapped.
We were unable to come to our booked, and then moved stay at Lynher House, due to family circumstances and last year Covid, and the owner is seemingly very money grabbing as they kept hold of our deposit despite having ample time to resell the dates.
I would urge you to look elsewhere as the company will not help you if this go sour!

I would not book a property through anyone else! We stayed at Burroughs in Devon and the whole experience was seamless. The property was stunning and beautifully maintained with tons of character. Boutique Retreats were super helpful from booking and throughout our stay. The standard is exceptional and the property we experienced was just perfect.

I would not book through this agent, they are just a front for the home owners and are not in a position to help you.
We had a booking and needed to cancel it due to Covid cancelling a wedding, again, but even though there was a month advanced warning the owner and therefore they would not refund us.

We booked "Undercastle Cottage" in the New Forest through Boutique Retreats. Very impressed with their communication and I was always able to speak to somebody, which is rare these days.
The cottage itself had the WOW factor and did not disappoint. It was even better than the pictures on the website. It is simply "chocolate box" and the most wonderful location. Complete privacy but yet a short drive to amenities. We walked to the Horse & Groom in Wood Green which took about 25 minutes which had a lovely garden (dog friendly) and good food. Wonderful walks right on your doorstep. The views from

This is a review of Boutique Retreats rather than a particular property. I don't normally bother writing positive reviews, if something goes well its what you expected, move on... but I have found this company so refreshingly simple and straightforward to deal with during these difficult times. We unfortunately had to delay our first stay and now due to second lock down have had booking cancelled. Everything has been dealt with quickly and efficiently and I will without hesitation come back once things are more normal.

Right from my very first owner's enquiry the whole BR experience has been overwhelmingly positive. Their interest and honesty was really very valuable at the beginning, especially for someone who has never run a holiday let before. It was a scary prospect for me (the mortgage on the cottage is a big one!) so their help and candid advice was crucial.
Since launch the whole BR team have been brilliantly helpful, understanding (of my silly questions) and supportive. And most importantly they seem to love Pound Cottage as much as I do!
