Having started off with one restaurant on Monaghan Street Newry back in 1984, we now have a well established chain of restaurants bringing our tasty food near you. We are a family owned business and it is this personal oversight and commitment of our team of staff, which we believe make the chain of restaurants so successful.
It's no secret how we prepare our famous chicken burgers. We bread juicy pieces of chicken in a renowned seasoning, a special formula of herbs and spices and lightly fry it to golden perfection and indeed it still defines the irresistible flavour of Friar Tuck's chicken today. We have our own custom built chipping plant situated in the heart of Newry City where we make the chips used at our restaurants.

Services
Why bother getting into the car on cold wet nights to drive down town for food when we can deliver it to you?. Whether you have friends around, are baby sitting or simply not bothered, give us a call to place your food order over the phone and we will deliver it to you freshly cooked so you get the same high quality food that you would expect in-store.
We are a dynamic and fast changing company providing employment opportunities for the local community. There are many opportunities to work with us at Friar Tuck's and any vacancies are normally advertised in the local press. We also welcome you to drop in an application form to your local restaurant as we may have a position coming up we can consider you for.

Wow how the mighty have fallen! I've been ordering food from here since it opened, so I thought I'd call in today as a treat for the family for lunch the experience of the staff was normal friendly service though I wish I could say the same about the food, chips tasted horrible like they'd been cooked days earlier and reheated the chicken wasn't that great either definitely not the quality I've come to expect from frier tucks lurgan especially being the only person there and with the high quality of food coming out of places locally definitely not one they can survive on, shame

The absolutely most terrible food I and my children have ever been served and expected to consume.. The cheese burger was like a rubber tyre which was obviously cooked earlier and left for god knows how long.. The staff Need help if thinking serving such food is good and enjoyable for the general public.. hopefully close soon before somebody becomes seriously ill..

1/4 Burger very thin and tasteless, children chicken nugget meal had only 3 small nuggets and no toy as advertised, chips were bland but garlic dip was nice and helped, fish was full of bones and soggy batter but mushy peas are ok, onion rings were brick hard and sausages were very cheap tasting.
No battered sausages which I found strange as any other chippy can just put the sausages in batter mix and make them easily.
Would not eat here again very disappointed.

Place was clean and got served fairly quickly. Food was OK, however we did not order the puddle of grease that came with the cheeseburger. It was quickly exchanged for another which was much better although my experiences with Friar Tucks establishments has been much the same across the country. All in all it can be hit or miss, but the kids seem to enjoy it

I really don't know what the fuss is about this place. It serves overpriced, industrially produced, rubbish food.
I know people who have moved away to work and live and when they return home for visits a stop here is a must for them. I find that sad.
I was with a group who decided to go here for their chicken burger and chips. It would never be my choice but I was well outnumbered. It was takeaway given the Wu flu and while I had this rubbish bought for me but I think it was around £7.5 for chicken breast burger & chips with a Diet Coke. The burger included a white bread roll and

The five stars on this are based mainly on the chicken burgers! They are amazing! Probably the best I've ever tasted. The other food on the menu is hit and miss really but they do some good meal deals and a great lunchtime deal for a fiver which includes a chicken burger and a curry/super chip and a drink! Not bad! The restaurant itself is clean and there is plenty of seating.
