Woods Primary School is a well established and respected rural school outside Ballyronan. Our school has been serving the community on its present site since 1968. We are continually striving to develop links between ourselves and the local community in which we serve. We are a school with fine traditions but are always looking forward to ensure that we meet the needs of all of the children in our care.

Services
Woods Primary is committed to providing an appropriate and high quality education for all children. We believe that all children, including those identified as having special educational needs, have a common entitlement to a broad and balanced curriculum, and to be included in all aspects of school life.
At Woods Primary School we care about the health and well-being of all of our children. We believe that a healthy balanced diet produces healthy and alert children. Healthy eating is encouraged at our school through a 'Healthy Break Initiative' for the whole school, healthy menus in the school canteen and special theme days throughout the year.
Woods Primary has established strong links with parents and has an active Parent and Teacher Association. All parents are automatically members of the PTA and the committee is a group of parents who are willing to work on behalf of the parents to plan social events and raise additional funds to support the work of the school.
Information and Communication Technology is an aid to pupils' learning and is a powerful tool in the classroom. The modern technological world at home, at school and in the workplace has become increasingly reliant on computer experiences. At Woods Primary School the pupils will have access to programs designed to enrich their learning experiences and opportunities.
At Woods Primary School we regard the wearing of school uniform as very important. We believe it gives the children a sense of identity with the school and encourages them to take pride in their appearance. Please note that it is unacceptable for pupils to wear brightly coloured training shoes with their uniform.
