Welcome to Thomas School of Motoring - and thanks for taking the time to look at this site. We aim to guide you through the process of learning to drive - and passing your Driving Test - whether you are a brand new driver or not happy with your progress and are looking for a change - whether you are nervous about getting started - or whether you are stuck at the Theory Test - then we can help.

Or maybe you want to get your licence as quickly as possible and are looking at a crash course - then Thomas School of Motoring can help. You'll also find some useful links where you can get some more information - The Driver & Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) have loads of background information on the Theory Test and Practical Driving Test - so take a look there too.
Services
Thomas School of Motoring can take you from applying for your Provisional Licence, through the DVSA Theory Test, through regular weekly driving lessons to your DVSA Practical Driving Test and once you've passed we'll even do your Pass Plus training. We'll help you with all the form filling and test bookings.
As an independent School of Motoring we offer all of our pupils the opportunity to take a mock driving test in the run up to their practical driving test. You'll get a feel for the real test to follow - the mock test will be conducted under DVSA conditions - and you will know what to expect come the the big day!
At Thomas School of Motoring we love to do crash courses - they're fast - usually 3 to 5 days and very simple to arrange. Very cost effective and convenient for the pupil but it's not an option for everyone. Am I eligible to do a crash course? Yes - if you've got a Provisional Driving Licence (if not apply for one here or get a form D1 from the Post Office) and have already passed your DVSA Theory Test.
The DVSA (Driver & Vehicle Standards Agency) recommend you take average 45 hours of professional driving tuition before test - this in addition to private practice. But everyone is different - some pupils learn and pass much faster and not everyone can get in some private practice. We recommend you do an assessment lesson and we'll give you an estimate of how many lessons you need to get to test standard - and how much it's likely to cost.
