There are many similarities to the Wheatsheaf, in that The Lion and Swan has lost its once acclaimed status in the town, favoured by the locals and passing trade alike. The team passionately believe in the potential to return the hotel to its former standing and are busy planning another ambitious transformation.
They intend to implement the same winning formula to restore the venue as an attraction and landmark in Congleton, whilst maintaining the history and heritage of the beautiful Grade II listed building. The renovation will be completed with the same meticulous attention to detail applied at The Wheatsheaf, featuring spectacular bedrooms, lavish bar areas and an exciting new restaurant.

Just WOW!!!! Having visited as it first opened, we asked if we could hold our Christmas party here which we had last night. What an incredible experience, absolutely everything was faultless from the service to the food, the drinks, the rooms. Everyone had a fantastic time! We were sad to leave and wanted to just sit by that log fire and relax. If you’re thinking of visiting for any reason at all, I’d strongly recommend that you do - you will not be disappointed. Thanks so much guys!

The bar area is just stunning and the atmosphere is wonderful. Bartenders are very helpful, and attentive. There was space in restaurant Leone, in which we decided to have a meal. (Assuming) Manager was attentive, but also seemed rude and intimidating, waiting staff seemed a lot more approachable than him. Very noisy considering there was hardly any tables full. The booth seat was so uncomfortable, and not enjoyable when trying to eat a meal. Staff were friendly, but as soon as we finished each course waitress immediately whipped our plates away, as if they wanted us to hurry up! Way too fast paced

We went on Sat 6th Nov. The place is beautiful, the way it's been done is similar to places we would normally have to travel to Manchester for, so saves us a trip and a great addition to Congleton.

- Atmosphere great.
- Service was great, in particular (Rob we think his name may of been) the waiter we had was very friendly and helpful and we didn't feel rushed or unattended at any point.
- Brilliant selection of drinks
- Choice of areas to sit was a bonus
- The doorman was great very friendly and helped us with our questions and even cleared tables for us to sit, nice bloke

First time at the Lion & Swan today for lunch and just wow!!!. Love the decor, amazing food, great service, friendly staff, high-end styling, cosey atmosphere. Free car parking on site, a warm welcome as soon as we walked through the door. Could have spent all night relaxing in the bar after our meal. We will definitely be coming back again soon. Highly recommended.

Lovely restaurant. Good food. Felt the service was a little too speedy - our dinner plates were removed and dessert menu given immediately!! Would've liked a little break but should've asked! The staff were fantastic and very attentive.
