The firm of David Seymour provides an individual service with experienced staff involved in every aspect of property sales and management. We have always prided ourselves in providing a friendly and efficient service whilst maintaining traditional values. We have access to a wide range of local contractors who provide an excellent service, often dealing with maintenance issues on behalf of our landlords with minimum notice.
Being a small family firm, our agency is still operating from our office, although with reduced staff. We are able to deal with any problems that Landlords or tenants may have albeit there may be some delays in obtaining materials required to carry out repairs. We have a dedicated repair e-mail address - repairs@david-seymour.co.uk or a mobile phone number for emergencies 07553 497789.

ID has to be provided in order for us to verify you are who you say you are. Further information on the documents that we can use can be found on the governments Right to Rent page. Please note that the holding deposit is non-refundable should you not take the reserved property within an agreed time frame, fail the credit checks, or give false information.
There are around 30 deaths and 4,000 accidents annually in the UK involving electrics, so don't think it can't happen in your properties. If you let property in England & Wales you must ensure that electrical equipment and the electrical system are safe. There is currently no statutory requirement to have annual safety checks on electrical equipment as there is with gas, but it advisable to do so as you can still be liable if things go wrong.
You must order an EPC for potential buyers and tenants before you market your property to sell or rent. An EPC gives a property an energy efficiency rating from A (most efficient) to G (least efficient) and it is valid for 10 years. The person selling the house, the landlord or the letting agent must show you the EPC if you're buying or renting.
A landlord's gas safety duties - what you should know? Whether you are a landlord or a tenant, make sure you understand the laws about gas safety. Running a property can be a stressful business. But are you aware of your legal gas safety duties as a landlord? Every year, landlords are conned by illegal gas workers who perform poor gas work, causing serious illness and death of tenants.

Not very good at organising work to be done at your property,
We have had our gutters down for over a month and they still have not fixed it yet,
They don't have a 24/7 emergency contact and only work Mon to Fri so any issues on a weekend have to wait to be dealt with
Most of the contractor's they have on there books are available only on Wed to Thurs basis
They also up the rent each year and tell you that you are the best tenants they have had
David Seymour's is one to really try and avoid due to cost and lack of time management with repairs

Horrendous agency. They don't act on issues with properties and only care about taking your money each month. We've got cracks in the roof which is causing the walls to be wet to the touch and mouldy but the landlord won't pay out for it and so the agency don't care. They paint over problems and don't deal with the cause of them. £665 a month for the privilege of living in a mouldy and damp flat. Stay away!
