As parents ourselves, we have high expectations when it comes to professional childcare. This is reflected in the attention to detail we have taken in developing and nurturing Watermead Day Nursery from its conception over 14 years ago, into an Ofsted OUTSTANDING setting, and something feedback confirms.
Watermead offers unquestionably the best childcare for babies (0 Years) through to pre-school (5 years) to the residents of Loughborough and beyond. It is also the only setting in the region inspired by the Reggio Emilia philosophy of childcare. Key to this philosophy is the understanding of the important roles imagination and discovery play in early childhood learning.

The original Watermead Day Nursery was designed and built by my father Peter Allen next door to the original family property back in 2004. Since then it has matured into a family run, Ofsted Oustanding facility of which we are immensely proud. Such has been its popularity that in 2016, after much soul-searching, it expanded to include our family home, Brook Farm House.
Our ambition was to provide the best nursery around. This desire led us to convert our family home into a separate independent setting that directly links to the nursery, but offers dedicated and focused pre-school facilities and care. The design of the building has been considered specifically around the needs of pre-schoolers.
Watermead Day nursery caters for children from birth to 3 years and is set across three levels. Secure access is provided by a finger-print entry system and CCTV is employed throughout the setting. Outdoor play is provided by three areas, one at the front of the property and two at the back.
The front area provides outdoor play specifically for the Robins room, and the two back areas, both accessed through conservatories, provide both a general use area and a secured, enclosed babies area.Hidden away at the bottom of the back garden is the secret garden. An escape area for all the children where they can climb, build and play.

We are delighted to inform you that after investing time, resources and passion into working towards The Curiosity Approach accreditation, we have been successful and are now a Curiosity Approach Accredited Centre. We wholeheartedly embarked on this journey to promote awe and wonder in early childhood and further promote a pedagogy that inspires children to see beauty in the random & unusual, to ignite creativity in educators & children.
At Watermead Day Nursery we are proud to use the phrase 'It's all about the children' because, you can be rest assured, everything that is done at the nursery is for the benefit of those under our care. Whether that be new, innovative approaches to room layout, to enhance the experience, or on going staff development, to ensure the children receive the best care available.

After a lot of research on Nurseries in the area I fell in love with Watermead and for many reasons. The staff are all wonderful and so reassuring and welcoming. The work they do with the local community. The Nursery itself is stunning. The children all seem so happy when you see them during drop offs and pick ups. And after just a few trials and one full day my son is already thriving and clearly enjoying himself there. They update you with photos and your child's routine throughout the day which is amazing... especially for nervous parents. I can not recommend Watermead enough! If I could give

My son has been going to Watermead almost since day one and we couldn’t be happier with the tailored care, infinite opportunities and all round professional but friendly experience we have seen at every stage of his development from baby to boy.
I have done and will continue to recommend the nursery to anyone looking for outstanding educational and personal childcare.
Thank you team Watermead.

My son has attended Watermead Day Nursery since he was 6 months old, from the very start I've been given complete confidence in the care he has received, the famly app throughout the pandemic also has allowed me to see the experiences virtually he is getting. Rio starts school this year he is a confident bright young boy with a willingness to learn and I thank the team at Watermead for playing a part in his early years, the exploring he has done through Forest school is something he has loved. Creative thinking in the art sessions, and I am so proud of the way he is able to write his name. I am
