Services
Our bedrooms and suites are located in either the 17th century Main Hall, the Spa, ground floor Mews or the Coach House which was originally the stables and barns. The interior design is authentic to the building in which the room is located as well as a continuity in style using soft and calming colours and attractive furnishings.
All of our rooms and suites are tastefully decorated to provide comfortable and relaxing accommodation. The Lord Gainford Suite (photographed) - located on the 1st floor of the Main Hall with stunning views over the gardens from its six windows. There is a four-poster bed and an elegant sitting room with ample seating and a feature fireplace.
We offer dinner inclusive rates throughout the year as shown below. We also have seasonal short break packages available for two or more nights, details of which can be found on the offers page. Child under 16 in a family room - 30 pn B&B only (dinner charged as taken from either children's menu or a la carte).
At Headlam Hall, our overall aim is to ensure that all our guests and customers enjoy their time here and have an effortless stay. All our guests are welcomed in the same way, ensuring that their individual needs are met. When someone with accessibility needs enquires about staying with us, our reservations team will discuss their needs and advise them accordingly.
For many people being able to bring their four-legged friend on a short break in the countryside is an important factor so we welcome dogs in our Mews bedrooms and can accommodate smaller dogs in a selection of our Main Hall and Spa rooms. The Mews - these rooms are very well suited as they have direct access to the outside and their own designated car parking place just outside.

Pretty close to perfection. the food was superb but it was the friendliness and hospitality of the staff that really prompted me to complete this review. The house is beautiful and very well decorated for Christmas and our short trip to the spa was pretty cool as well. Highly recommended and we will be returning.

Called in for lunch 2 days ago after having been on numerous occasions before and always been happy, but this time came away feeling a little deflated. Normally we would eat lunch in brasserie but to have a 'warm' choice we were sent into hotel to use the bar facilities which has never happened before. We ordered leek and potato soup which came very luke warm so had to be sent back which the staff did without question but to be honest we've had much better tasting soup. Ordered bacon sandwiches in brioche buns with potato rostis. The presentation was very poor, it looked like it had just been plonked

Lovely food and brilliant setting. Staff are fantastic, really welcoming and friendly. Lunch menu is great with £19.50 for two courses or £24.50 for three courses. I can recommend the duck parfait starter and battered sea bass for the main course. I didn't have room for dessert, sadly. The pot of coffee was lovely and we were left to chat over coffee for as long as we liked. Really relaxing atmosphere.

We stayed here for my wife’s birthday and had a nice stay. Nice setting and very relaxing. The staff were lovely and the hall itself is very nice. Food was nice and spa nice (albeit small). I feel the communication could be improved slightly for how to book and access the spa, as this was unclear on booking and you are limited to 2 hours in the spa due to Covid. Apart from this we had a fab stay!
