Hi, my name is Jenny, I founded the Denning Montessori School in 1991. Even though it is now well over a quarter of a century ago, I remember it as if it was yesterday. Since as early as I can remember, I have known I wanted to work with children, it feels as though working with children is a part of my life purpose, I love it as much now as I did when I first started.
Jennifer Blain has worked with children all her life. She qualified as a Nursery Nurse (NNEB) attending a two year residential course, after which she worked as a nanny before training as a Montessori Teacher. She worked as a Montessori Teacher, and then Head Teacher of a Montessori School, prior to setting up the Denning Montessori School.
The Denning Montessori School seeks to offer young children the very best nursery education possible. Since 1991 we have been in existence under the same leadership, we have never stopped seeking improvement in everything that we do, and we never will. We remain continually open to new ideas, to progress, and to continual learning and development.
Jennifer Blain, Founder and Principal of the Denning Montessori School, brought the Montessori Method and Philosophy to the Henley on Thames area, nearly a quarter of a century ago. We were Henley's first Montessori school. Montessori is both a method of education and also a philosophy created by Dr Maria Montessori, who was one of Italy's very first doctors of medicine.
To provide high quality care and education for pre-school children, following the Montessori philosophy and using the Montessori materials. To awaken the child's interest in all subjects by whatever method is suitable for him/her. To identify staff training needs, to ensure their continued professional development and support such training as far as possible.
