As one of Newbury's oldest established firms of solicitors, Charles Hoile has been satisfying the legal needs of local families and businesses for generations. Conveniently located near to several car parks, 10 minutes drive from M4 junction 13 and 5 minutes walk from Newbury train station, the firm offers a sensitive and sympathetic solution to a varied range of legal demands which includes divorce, separation and child custody cases, as well as criminal and motoring offences.

Our reputation for offering sound advice and value for money is well established, and relationships with our clients are built on mutual respect and trust - trust in our knowledge, trust in our experience and trust in our ability to conclude all legal matters in a speedy and stress-free a manner as possible.
Services
The end of a relationship can be extremely distressing. But even though divorce or separation may have become inevitable, it is still possible to manage the legal split in a dignified way - and this is all the more preferable when children are involved. At Charles Hoile, we know that a willingness to compromise is beneficial to achieving a civilised conclusion to a marriage or partnership.
We understand that your children's wellbeing will be a key concern in the event of a relationship breakdown. As accredited specialist family lawyers, we can advise you on constructive and practical solutions when making arrangements for your children, whilst ensuring that their welfare is the main focus.
It is an unfortunate fact that at some point in their lives, most drivers and motorcyclists will commit a motoring offence - and if the Police become involved then prosecution is likely. At this point, legal representation by a knowledgeable and dedicated solicitor will assist in bringing about a conclusion that is acceptable to all sides.
Known and respected as one of Newbury's foremost criminal law firms, the solicitors at Charles Hoile can call upon many years of experience in this field and have established excellent working relationships with local Police forces. From its beginnings, Charles Hoile has represented clients accused of a wide spectrum of crimes - both serious and minor.

A massive thanks to Mike who looked after our family in a horrible situation during lockdown, he made the outcome the best it could of been, without Mike's knowledge and experience things could of been much worse. Mike also carried on helping our situation months after as we had no idea how anything worked in what we were working through. Thank you Mike Davis, so so grateful for what you have done. If we ever need a solicitor again I will only use this company, well done xx.

Mike Davies is with absolutely no doubt a experienced, professional and great guy. Been taking me through my matter and received best advice and peace of mind from him with no charge. Been round the corner to a different company and just to have a chat about my matter been asked to pay 300 £. I recomend this company and Mike Davies with full confidence to everybody.

Messed up my house sale to the point where I had to refer the matter to the Legal Complaints Service (now the Legal Ombudsman). The complaint was successful and I was rewarded with an amount reduction off the fees. I consider this to be a shallow victory though as I believe that Charles Hoile's repeated errors cost me a lot more than I received off the bill.
The main error was a legal one around the house sale, a detail not spotted which should have been and delayed things beyond where they needed to go. Subsequent errors included sending potentially sensitive emails to the other party's solicitor
