Kids Ahoy

We use the same approach as the NHS Health visitors (Solihull Approach) when we support parent/carers with child development; such as toilet training, weaning, behaviour issues etc. We have various Information sheets that you can take away. Should you wish some support please ensure that you speak with the staff.

Our Birth to Three Room follows a general routine, but staff are flexible to what is happening at the present time and responsive to the children's needs and interests. Families are asked to provide their own nappies, wipes, change of clothes and any formula or breast milk. Staff follows Pre-Birth to Three guidelines from The Scottish Executive when planning for the developmental needs of the children.

Our pre-school room takes children from 3 years to 5 years, following a 1:8 staff to child ratio. Kids Ahoy is in partnership with our local authority to provide pre-school education for 3-5 year olds - in accordance with the 3-18 Curriculum for Excellence, as set by the Scottish Executive. Everything that we do at Kids Ahoy centres around play and what the children learn through their play.

Our after school group runs from 3pm-6pm and is based at Loreburn Primary School providing our after school club with excellent space both indoors and out. We have our very own minibus - named Betsy Bus by the children and staff - and currently provide drop off and collection from many local schools.

There is a non-refundable registration fee of 25 per family. This registration fee is required to secure your space before your child starts their sessions and secures six hours induction time to use before your start date. You are welcome to book more inductions after the six hours, if you feel you child needs them, but these will not be included in your registration fee and will be charged to you separately.
