We are a small family run restaurant in Henley on Thames serving traditional Italian cuisine. The name Al Forno literally translates as "cooked in the oven" and stems from our beautiful wood burning oven which is over 40 years old. The restaurant, formerly Casa Nostra, has undergone a total refurbishment with just the original oven and open grill remaining.
The restaurant is simply but elegantly furnished with the emphasis on good Italian food. Chef and owner, Nuno Rosado, who worked at the original restaurant for 25 years, places emphasis on the freshest of ingredients and cooking each meal individually for his customers.

Went here tonight with my family for a celebratory meal- the service, atmosphere, and food was just beautiful. The restaurant is small, cosy and nicely decorated, with lovely music, and the menus (including the wine selection) are excellent, let alone the authentic and delicious food! This is the sister restaurant to the Portuguese seafood place The Square also in Henley, and both are flawless.

Nice, small cosy place. They have good fresh products. They also cater for different requirements. Was disappointed when I asked for oregano, as it is an essential herb in the Mediterranean cuisine. Other than that the service was great. Parking is not the best, but as it is not exactly in the town centre you might manage to find one of the spaces in front of the restaurant.

Ate there on spur of the moment after comparing reviews of Italian restaurants in Henley. Excellent service, food and a nice vibe. (A quiet Sunday night.) I had pizza and my wife had pasta, both dishes were excellent. My wife had a tricolor salad, also excellent and I had calamari appetizer, which was good. Very good all around. Highly recommend. Will return next time in Henley.
