Graduating from Edge Hill University with a BA (Hons) in Primary Education and Child Development and Learning (with QTS) and then a Diploma in Early Years at Leeds Metropolitan, Kate is inordinately passionate about the care for, and development of our next generation. Kate is a Qualified Teacher and worked as a Reception class teacher at a 'GOOD' rated school in Halifax for 9 years.
Since becoming a mother to Frederick and Florence she has seen a gap in the market for play based, fun and educational activities within the pre-school setting. Kate was born and bred in Todmorden, so alongside her desire to deliver the highest standards of care to 0-5 year olds, she is also passionate about her local community in the Calder Valley.

At Vale Street Nursery, we believe that a healthy balanced diet is essential for growth and development. Freshly cooked every day in our own kitchen. Our delicious meals are prepared each day using fresh ingredients by our Chef. Our menus are planned with careful consideration given to salt and sugar content, as well as catering for all dietary requirements.
My daughter started at Vale Street nursery at 2.5 years old. When she started we'd had quite a difficult few years and only recently had moved to the area. From the get go the staff at the nursery have been incredibly helpful and supportive. My daughter couldn't hardly talk, didn't really like playing or having any cuddles and kisses off anyone.

Having recently moved to the area and taking our child from a very good nursery during the 2020/21 lockdowns unfortunately we were very restricted which nursery we could send our child to. Vale street was the only “local” taking placements so we pretty much had no option. The manager/owner is beyond rude and arrogant and will happily walk past you while you’re standing at the door with your child for someone to let him in without so much as look at you! Not being funny, but we’re your customers least you could do is have some simple manners! The young girls who are left to run the place

Since starting at Vale st in January, Ralf has developed some amazing bonds with staff. He runs in every day and can’t get enough of all the fun resources and opportunities. The staff are welcoming, friendly, accomodating and approachable. Communication is outstanding via the app. Couldn’t be happier with our choice to send Ralf to Vale St 👍🏻

My little girl started Vale Street Nursery at the end of last year. She’s now settled in well in the baby room. All staff are polite, friendly and great with my little girl. We receive regular updates on the EY log app when we’re at work which we look forward to. Vale Street is a lovely nursery and we would definitely recommend it!
