Prescot Primary School
At Prescot Primary, we have embraced digital technology in every area of school life. We are an Apple Distinguished School, (2015-2020) - our second successful application, and we use iPads wherever we can to enhance excellent teaching and learning. Children from Y3 to Y6 are given an iPad to personalise; they use it in school but are also encouraged to take it home in a bid to promote learning at home.

This perspective opens up opportunities for learning that we may never have previously had.
Services
At Prescot Primary we believe every individual should be empowered to learn and achieve within our safe and trusting environment. There can be no limits and our children are encouraged to believe that anything is possible. Every experience that we offer our children is a valued opportunity to learn with capacity and potential for them to surprise us.
All schools in England have a Governing Board which is responsible for overseeing the strategic decisions of the school. As a Board our overarching aim is to ensure that the children who attend Prescot Primary are able to achieve to the best of their ability.

The challenge for us as a Board is how we accomplish this by exercising our three core functions as outlined below and whilst working within the legal requirements that apply to all maintained schools.Holding the Headteacher to account for the educational performance of the school and its pupils, and the performance management of staff, and.
At Prescot Primary, we value how our children learn just as much as what they learn. Every year, as our children grow, we promote many learning behaviours that help them to succeed, including perseverance, independence, communication, curiosity and the ability to learn from their mistakes. We also recognise that many factors can influence how children approach their learning and how they behave during lessons, on the playground and in clubs.
Enable pupils to distinguish right from wrong and to respect the civil and criminal law of England;. Encourage pupils to accept responsibility for their behaviour, show initiative and understand how they can contribute positively to the lives of those living and working in the locality in which the school is situated, and to society more widely;.
Safeguarding is the action that is taken to promote the welfare of children and protect them from harm. Safeguarding means: protecting children from abuse and maltreatment. Safeguarding is a priority at Prescot Primary and we believe that safeguarding our children is everyone's responsibility. It is our aim to promote safeguarding with staff, parents and visitors and also to equip our pupils with the skills to keep themselves safe and healthy.
