Did you know; a well-presented CV only grabs the attention of the employer for 120 seconds and if it is poorly presented or spelling errors are spotted it gets no time at all! Your CV is an essential "sales tool" and is generally your first contact with an employer - get it right - make your CV stand out.
The power and impact of this single document should not be underestimated, as it will frequently make the difference between you being invited along to your chosen company for an interview or being filed away with the other 50 forgettable CV's. You have approximately two minutes to sell yourself on paper!
Preparing thoroughly will help you to remain as relaxed as possible but maintaining your composure, reducing your interview nerves giving you confidenceto carry out a controlled interview. The interviewer wants a successful outcome from the interview as well as the interviewee. Often the interviewer will be looking to see how you behave in stressful situations.
Be aware that the interviewer can't see you: they can't see your hand gestures not can they see you taking notes. Do use the technique of repeating or re-phrasing questions. It tells the INterviewer that you are listening carefully and gives you time to think about your answer. If you need time to think, say so - as in radio, silence during a telephone conversation is dead air time.
