The Mustard Seed Restaurant
When you treat someone special to a Mustard Seed gift voucher, you can be sure it will be an experience they'll truly love. They'll enjoy delicious dishes, skilfully made with fresh, seasonal ingredients, served in a beautiful restaurant with a great atmosphere. The simple cooking and warm, friendly atmosphere has allowed The Mustard Seed to become one of Inverness's favourite restaurants.

The Location on the banks of the River Ness in a converted church building is simply stunning and helps create the wonderful ambience. The transformation from disused church to restaurant created a unique space; with a double-height ceiling and magnificent open log fire. Many of the original period features were retained and combined with a mix of natural and modern finishes.
Services
For corporate and social groups alike we are very pleased to be able to accommodate reservations of up to 50 guests in the restaurant. The Mustard Seed offers complete flexibility to include a choice of menu on the day.

Our chefs can create a bespoke menu to suit every possible occasion and budget, and our restaurant managers will be very happy to discuss the options available to you, making all the necessary arrangements to make your event a success.
We came in a large group and the food was very delicious. I had fish and mushroom soup. The service was excellent. It was fast and the staff was very nice and polite. They were always checking on us if everything was to our needs. We accidentally order more ice cream because we didn't know the apple crumble came with ice cream, they took the extra order back nicely.

ПScottish HIGHLAND cuisine at its BEST @ The Mustard Seed, Inverness
Boasting nearly 2000 Google Reviews, this restaurant at the Scottish Highland capital is a FAVOURITE amongst locals. Serving authentic European cuisine, the location is set directly facing the banks of the River Ness.
⛰️Michelle and I wanted to experience authentic highlander cuisine; this seemed to be the perfect place to go.
⛪I was wowed by the interior designs the moment we entered. What initially was a disused church was transformed into The Mustard Seed restaurant; a lovely open log fire dances in the middle of

I had planned to have an evening meal with a relative but had to adjust my plans slightly.
I dined alone, for an evening meal, and was impressed by the service: knowledgeable and friendly staff provided me with what I wanted when I wanted it.
I am on a restrictive diet: gluten free and plant based. This can leave me with few options when dining out but I felt catered for, and certainly cared for by the staff who displayed an admirable amount of knowledge about such diets, by the menu offered.
I do feel that The Mustard Seed can improve their non-meat offerings but this is as much a note about

The environment and service was very good, however the food left a lot to be desired. Vegan Christmas Main was very disappointing, basically just a plate of roasted vegetables, which were definitely tasty, however the plate lacked variety and for being the same price as the non-vegan dish I was shocked at how little was on the plate in comparison.
Also, another member of our table ordered a dark chocolate and orange tart, which was so hard and solid she could barely get her spoon through it.
All in all, we were a bit disappointed with the food at The Mustard Seed.

Extended our stay for an extra night just to try this restaurant because of superb reviews and was very much looking forward for our dinner.
Welcome was great and this is what you usually expect from places with high score of reviews.
All went well until mains arrived, Venison fillet was delicious and cooked to perfection...Rib eye steak very stringy and low quality, served on top of mashed potatoes and covered with flat mushroom and peppercorn sauce, have never ever been served steak this way, ussually all comes separate...sorry but meat felt like a very cheap and thin cut of rump steak, and

The food and service were excellent.
I had the frittata as a starter and the salmon as a main - don’t miss this choice at the bottom of the menu. The salmon was cooked to perfection, with a hard fried skin and came with 2 fresh shrimps.
The menu offers starter + main for £13.95 (£17.95 if you go for the salmon as a main).
The staff were very friendly.
I’d recommend booking since the place gets busy with all the hikers stopping by Inverness.

Reserve a few days in advance, this is fabulous!
The early bird menu is exceptional value for money, the haggis bonbons plus steak, sides and a bananoffee dessert came to less then £27.
Wow. What a treat to myself. I felt like a million dollars.
Super friendly and professional staff, host Callum & Sophia are a great asset, and a modern Maitre D that got me a last split second table.
I was trained as a Chef and a Waiter in the 80's, classical, in Holland. I've been in the hospitality industry for decades local and global in management roles.
Being here tonight gave me the feeling of being

It was okay, service was fine apart from slightly pushy around table reservation times (covid played its part here I think) nice aesthetic, good choices of drinks, lunch preset price is a bit much for what you get in terms of quality seafood was incredibly good however, just the steak was a bit tough.

Lovely restaurant.
They have specials each day, so every day can be a surprise.
Staff is super friendly and accommodating.
The whole building belongs to a restaurant, which allowed space to be open and have nice views from most of tables, especially to the river.
