The White Rose Hotel and Restaurant in the north Yorkshire Dales, formerly a 19th century residence, has been carefully and sympathetically refurbished to create a family-run hotel in the heart of Askrigg in Wensleydale, the location for many of BBC Televisions James Herriots All Creatures Great and Small series.

Here we provide excellent bed and breakfast holiday accommodation, plus a la carte restaurant meals and bar meals. We also provide for Functions, Wedding Receptions and Private Parties. For more information and photographs you can also visit our other website. Askrigg is a popular starting point for walkers.
Services
For our bed and breakfast hotel holiday accommodation in Askrigg, Wensleydale and the Yorkshire Dales, there are twelve bedrooms, all with full ensuite facilities, room controlled central heating, colour T.V., radio, hair dryer and hospitality trays. The bedrooms have been comfortably furnished with most retaining the original fireplaces and panelled window shutters.
The White Rose Country House Hotel, Inn and Restaurant is located at Askrigg in Wensleydale at the heart of Herriot Country and the Yorkshire Dales National Park. We provide excellent hotel accommodation, inn accommodation and bed and breakfast accommodation, as well as warm and friendly hospitality and an ideal base for exploring the delights of Swaledale, Teesdale and the southern dales.
The White Rose Hotel is a perfect starting point for your break in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales. From Askrigg you can travel either up or down Wensleydale, both directions offering a wide variation of sights and attractions. Head up the Dale and you will soon reach the small market town of Hawes, a tourist hot spot.
At the bottom of the Main Street in Askrigg, next to the historic village Church, is 'Skeldale House', the sturdy stone-built building used in the famous BBC television series of 'All Creatures Great and Small'. Indeed the setting of the 'Drovers Arms' can still be found here as well! Therefore it can be argued that this is the very heart of what is still known as 'Herriot Country'.
