Built by Jeremy Goring's great-grandfather Otto in 1910, The Goring has been lovingly run by the Goring family since its inception. A visionary, Otto Goring saw great promise in a plot of land situated at the Buckingham Palace end of what today is known as Beeston Place. After removing a public house and several cottages, the path was laid clear for the last grand hotel of the Edwardian era - The Goring.
A number of historic events have taken place at The Goring over the last 110 years. The Commander of the American Expeditionary Forces was based at the hotel during World War I. Winston Churchill held meetings with allied leaders in the Silver Room during World War II, while the Polish army in exile was based upstairs.

We enjoyed Afternoon Tea on Wednesday which was booked for a friend's 50th treat. I'd been here 13 years ago for a friend's Hen Do and always remembered how incredible the staff were. I am really happy to say that the service, food, atmoshphere etc was still as good as I remembered it and I actually can't wait to go back again.
I've had afternoon Tea and The Ritz and Harrods but for me The Goring is the best choice.
My friend was taken ill during our visit on Wednesday and the staff could not have been any more amazing at dealing with the situation.
Thank you so much to Colin, the Duty Manager

The thing that stood out the most at the Goring was the amazing staff. We have traveled the world, and have stayed at some of the top hotels, and the Goring's staff is some of the best staff we have experienced. They are genuine and incredibly helpful without being invasive. Truly a class act. Our room was very clean-- which is a big deal for me, and the hotel itself had a great energy about it. At the end of the day though, I can't say enough about how wonderful the staff was, maybe because it can be rare to have this experience, even at some of the finest hotels, so it was such a treat and will

Thank you for the wonderful service we received from everyone today when we came for my husband's birthday lunch. It was his first time back in the hotel after 30 years when he worked as one of the Chefs in the kitchen back then. The food was simply stunning & we enjoyed every moment. We will be back again some time.

We booked a last minute dinner in the dining room with our 2 children. They were very accommodating. The staff couldn’t do enough for us. service was fantastic, as was the food. It’s a beautiful hotel, we loved… the sheep! Would definitely recommend. The hotel felt very luxurious but also like a home from home due to the cosy, ambient decor.

The staff and hotel were top notch. I want to especially thank Nicolette for taking the time to make me a list of places to go when we arrive in Budapest. Martin, Eduardo and the wonderful concierge staff were an amazing help during our stay. Charlie in the lounge was attentive and very pleasant to talk to. The Goring hotel was an overall success and we will be returning very soon.

We were looking for a cup of tea!....Door men were very accommodating, took us inside and arranged for our luggage to be stowed. The hotel bar is very elegant ( of course) and we were served tea for two. Although, the waiter seemed insisting that we order something else as just 'tea wasn't served to none residents. So, we asked for tequila ( was 11 30 am ðŸ¤) The other staff appeared to take it in good enough humour 😅
We left after a few....very happy..thanks!
Was a strange but fun experience.

We stayed 1 week with the wonderful helpful staff at the Goring. Delightful understated elegance. Our room, bedding and toweling were of the highest quality. We enjoyed two delightfully prepared dinners in the hotel dining room. Each were thoughtfully prepared and wonderfully presented. Tibor worked diligently along with John to assist us in making impossible reservations. Tibor got us into the Core restaurant by Claire Smyth which we found impossible to book while in the USA and John worked for two whole days to get us into Buckingham palace. Our only disappointed moment came when attempting to

Wow. We came to stay at the Goring not knowing what to expect and ended up finding it exceptional!
First, the hotel itself is historical and gorgeous. (No wonder they are called GORing!) The hotel is passed on for generations. The service was superb. The front desk lady checked us in, showed us around the hotel, and led us to our room. The sheep doll on the bed is complimentary to take home! Other than that, there was another sheep by the table for petting. Everything was neat and tidy.
All the staff there are very helpful and courteous. They would run the extra mile however they can to help

We really enjoyed the Goring for three nights. The service is impeccable! From the doorman, to the front desk staff, to the bar staff, down to the cleaning staff who organized all of my wires, papers, and folded my dirty laundry during turn-down service every night which is above and beyond anything I have ever seen. Room was very comfortable, with a nice bed, and good bathrooms. The bar gets quite a crowded in the evening, but the best part is it stays open 24 hours a day :)

This was an OK hotel. Far too expensive for the lack of service/experience of staff and amenities. The rooms felt nearly dorm-like, with insufficient outlets, including none in the bathroom, requiring you to dry hair in the hallway. Room service was 20 minutes late the first morning and their staff forgot items both mornings. There were a few other details like this (e.g., when they made up our room, they left an opened bottle of water with no cap, which is just a strange oversight, and there washarsh/low quality toilet paper).
I do have to say that the worst part of our stay was that the toilets

The food was fantastic!
Watercress and horseradish soup, Cornish mackerel, cured trout roe:
The taste was great and the fish was so well blended with the soup itself, and the the roe really lifted the freshness of the whole starter.
Roast Cornish cod, lobster dumpling, young fennel, lobster bisque, citrus oil
The entree was good, but the cod was a bit bland... the lobster dumpling was so good and so flavourful, I could have a whole plate of them! The bisque is a very good blend to the dumpling, but not really matching with the cod...
Mascarpone and lime mousse, citrus fruit sorbet, passion fruit

London - Fine dining and friendly staff. We made reservations for their first sitting and had the entire dining room to ourselves. Most other groups started to arrive after 7.
Prices were very reasonable and everything on their menu is 5 stars. Portions seemed small but looks can be deceiving. I was very satisfied at the end of my dinner.
The desserts were also to die for! Make your reservations online before heading to London. This is one of top fine dining restaurants that won't break your budget.

If you are looking for the perfect hotel in London for an extremely traditional experience this is it.
The staff is wonderful, the food is perfect.
You will find Croquet in the back lawn and a great place for high tea.
I also stay at the Savoy which is also very very nice but this is a smaller family owned 5 star hotel with impeccable service.
