Set in Tobermory on the beautiful Isle of Mull, the Mishnish has twelve comfortable letting rooms, the Mishdish restaurant and bistro, and a quirky bar with snug rooms to hide away, open fires, bar meals and live music. A visit to the Isle of Mull is not complete without a visit to the Mishnish in Tobermory which first opened it's doors in 1869.

The Mishnish is one of the few iconic bars left in Scotland and is known all over the world by visitors to the island, sailors, musicians and rally drivers. Recently refurbished, the bar maintains a cosy, friendly atmosphere and remains traditional with a collection of old memorabilia from shipwrecks and the town itself.
Services
Tobermory is the capital of, and the only burgh on the Isle of Mull in the Scottish Inner Hebrides. It is located in the northeastern part of the island, near the northern entrance of the Sound of Mull. With a current population of approximately 700, the town was founded as a fishing port in 1788, its layout based on the designs of Dumfriesshire engineer Thomas Telford.
Held in October, the Mull Rally has been a great success for the last 45 years and is a must see. It was the first rally in the UK to achieve closed public road status and the notoriety of the roads on Mull continues to secure the reputation and excitement of this event.

A significant highlight of the town's calendar, the Mull Music Festival is held in late April and is a weekend of Scottish music featuring folk-rock, traditional fiddle, Gaelic singers and accordion dance and ceilidh bands. The festival takes place in The Mishnish, as well as other hotel and bar venues local to Tobermory.

Great little bar but poor bar staff when we were in. Meal was good and the warm fire even better.

Bad language
Popped in today for fish and chips.
Which was very nice, lovely young waiter 10/10
But it was quickly spoiled by a very bad foul mouthed man from up stairs. Shouting and screaming at members of staff . The language was blue and it was very embarrassing for us and the staff. I Was going to stay for more drinks but not to listen to him.

Nice little restaurant, food and service was decent enough. Good selection on the seafood platter, plenty for 2 people (although my girlfriend polished it off by herself 😆). Steak of the day was fillet and was a good cut and we'll seasoned. Nothing to complain about considering it's not a steakhouse!. Solid 4 stars

Cheerful hotel restaurant with separate bar (and bar food). Sharon had scallops to start, cooked well to melt in the mouth, fesh and sweet. Then she couldn't resist a simple fish and chips - large fresh cod with crispy batter.
I'd saved myself for the seafood platter, it could easily do two for a light lunch or with a side of chips. The platter comes with a full variety of oysters, mussels, crab claws and langoustines, all tasted fresh off the boat. Be prepared - you really need to enjoy playing with your food for this dish... but who doesn't?

We had a meal here on the final night of a 4 day cycling break and it was excellent. Delicious locally sourced seafood, reasonably priced, and with a professional and friendly service. Would highly recommend for anyone looking to enjoy an excellently prepared, true taste of Mull dining experience.

This is the best place on the island. It is a proper pub serving bar food and also has a good restaurant. Fantastic atmosphere. We were in there on Friday evening and they had live music from 10 pm. Staff are friendly and efficient and the bar food was excellent. Would recommend.

The food I had here was some of the best seafood I've had in a long time. The scallops in particular were extremely tender and delicious. 10/10 would come back again. I would suggest phoning ahead if Tobermory looks busy as we saw quite a few people get turned away due to lack of seats.

Are scallops meant to taste of anything? Mine didn't. It was like eating fried cotton wool. But I've never ordered scallops before. A nicely decorated venue in a beautiful town. I thought it was a bit pricey for the standard of food though.

We needed accommodation at short notice - luckily the Mishnish had a family room available. Comfortable beds, spotlessly clean and a delicious breakfast. The bar downstairs was well run, with a great atmosphere and we had a good evening.
