SeaSalt is a newly opened and already lively bistro-takeaway in the lovely harbour of Port Ellen. A perfect place to stop if you're on your way to the ferry, or if you've just arrived, we can offer you morning teas, coffees, breakfast rolls and scones, as well as varied lunch and dinner menus, and a popular takeaway service.
Our welcoming and attentive staff are delighted to offer you a diverse contemporary cuisine, from freshly made pizza and pasta dishes to seafood and steaks, and an attractive selection of daily specials. Cooked to a high standard in our open kitchen, most of our food uses locally sourced ingredients, including Islay-landed lobster, langoustines and scallops, a daily fish dish, and Argyll beef, lamb and venison.

Went twice to this restaurant whilst in Islay. The food and service was excellent. The seafood pasta and smoked haddock risotto were superb as was the Cullen Skink and the Islay Malt Cranachan (which we hadn't had before but would definitely recommend)
A lovely lady served us both evenings. Thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

Pathetic attitude and service. I struggle with previous reviews. It’s a shame I can’t give less than one star
I pre booked a table for a family reunion. Eight people for eight o’clock. My brother’s party of four turned up at eight to be told that they were closing early, but we could use the take away. We were then told we couldn’t use that either. No apologies, and no calls to my mobile number that I had given when booking. Book at your own risk. Never happened to me before.
Thank goodness for the friendly Islay Hotel.

Delicious breakfast to start a day of whisky distillery visits! The smoked salmon and scrambled eggs were delicious with very high-quality ingredients and everyone else enjoyed the full Scottish breakfast. Service was friendly and efficient. I'd definitely recommend a visit and make sure to order an extra tatty scone - they're amazing!
