Welcome to Parkgate Primary School, an academy in the family of schools within The Futures Trust. We are one of the largest primaries in the city of Coventry serving a richly diverse community. At Parkgate, we believe that every child has the right to achieve their full potential with no 'barriers to learning'.
As a result, we offer an exciting curriculum, tailored to the needs of our children and the community, balanced with exciting extra curricular activities and strong pastoral care. It is a privilege to work in close partnership with the children and families in our community, during their time with us here at Parkgate.

Services
Parkgate Primary is a large primary school which consists of a nursery, three reception classes and three classes per year group in years 1 to 6. We are fortunate to have many members of staff who all play a very important role in making the school as successful as it is. The staff are organised into teams.
We believe that all children should have opportunities to develop their leadership skills at Parkgate Primary; whether this be through small group activities within their own classroom, supporting younger children or leading across the whole school. Over the last few years we have developed a number of leadership opportunities included within our Inspiring Young Leaders programme.
As part of The Futures Trust, we are also aligned to The President Kennedy Teaching School Alliance, an alliance of partner schools from across Coventry, Warwickshire, Birmingham and Leicestershire. The vision and strategic intent is to provide high quality Continuing Professional and Leadership Development, School to School Support and Initial Teacher Training that secures outstanding outcomes for all students within the alliance and beyond.
At Parkgate, we recognise the contribution of PE to the health and well-being of the children. We believe that an innovative, varied PE curriculum and extra-curricular opportunities have a positive influence on the concentration, attitude and academic achievement of all our children.
Our Primary School Sport's Funding will enable us to continue and extend our provision through employing additional sports professionals, entering into more competitive sports competitions and training our staff to deliver in-house quality PE sessions. We are delighted to be able to announce that we were awarded the Quality Mark for 'demonstrating good commitment to improvement in physical education & sport'.

Parkgate Primary School serves children between the ages of 4 and 11 years. Parkgate also has nursery classes which admit children in the academic year before they are due to commence school. However, children must start school at the beginning of the term following their fifth birthday. Coventry operates a co-ordinated scheme for primary admission arrangements.
