Established in 1989, Alan Young Engineering LTD is a high precision engineering manufacturer based in South West Scotland. We specialise in a wide variety of machining processes such as CNC turning, CNC Milling, Wire Erosion, Gear Cutting, etc. Our main focus, however, is on the manufacture of standard/custom designed timing belt pulleys ranging from single prototypes to large quantity batch work.

Using our three CNC machining centres we can provide various CNC milling processes which enable us to produce complex components in a wide range of materials with high accuracy. Whether you require large quantity batch work or a prototype part, we have the facilities to cater for your needs. We have both 3 and 4 axis machining centers and can produce highly complex 3D profiles as well as simple 2D shapes.
Here at Alan Young Engineering we have the capacity and the skill to cater for almost all of your CNC turning needs. We specialise mainly in small quantity batch work, but have the capacity to manufacture anything from a single prototype to a large quantity of parts. These components can range from the smallest 10mm diameter shaft to the largest 500mm diameter pulley.
We are equipped to deal with almost any application of gear cutting. We have a small selection of manual and CNC gear hobbers, in both vertical and horizontal configuration, as well as a vast selection of gear, sprocket and pulley hobs/tools to suit virtually any tooth profile. Once again, we can manufacture anything from a single replacement gear to a large quantity of custom designed pulleys.
Our main area of expertise at Alan Young Engineering is the manufacture of standard/custom timing belt pulleys. We can manufacture various pulleys, from the simplest drive pulley to a cam pulley on the latest WRC car. We work with a large range of materials, and carry many of them in stock ensuring a quick turnaround - these include various grades of aluminum, stainless steels, plastics, steels, brass, bronze, etc.
