We have 2 bars, the first is believed to be 17th century it has exposed beams and a large fire place just the thing for a cosy night in. The dining area has low ceilings giving it an intimate feeling and the seating areas are much more private. The second bar is the mill bar so called for its view of the old windmill.

This side is Georgian in looks and is airy and light with high ceilings. The mill bar has larger tables so is favoured by parties of people or for business meetings. If the weather is good why not make the most of it and sit outside on our patio seating area with views over the rolling Suffolk countryside and secluded seating bays your sure to get that holiday feeling.

We're still fairly new to the area and have only eaten here twice. We love it! It's not the cheapest but the menu and food quality is brilliant. Really good bar with great range of malt whiskys and gins for me and great beer for my partner. The place has a lovely mix of good quality restaurant for special occasions and traditional pub for the locals complete with roaring fire. We'll definitely return when we're next celebrating a special occasion.

Wasn't sure at first. But then we ate. Wow! Really good food, cooked to perfection. Very "cosy" inside. I prefer a bit more modern decor, a little more open, this is why I wasn't really sure about it at first, but it was still lovely. Very old pub like, which is exactly what it is so, you know, there's that. Can't fault the food or the service. The landlord was friendly and the waiter was very polite and on the ball, exactly what you want. Super experience.
The setting was also lovely. And there was ample parking.

Nice friendly welcome to the restaurant..full of character and good choice of pre-dinner drinks! Waitress was friendly and knowledgeable and took us to our table. Very good varied choice of food..went for smoked duck for starter. Presented well and tasted very flavoursome. Main was very tasty sea bass on crush potatoes with mint n lemon. Very light refreshing and seasoned well. Homemade ice cream was a real treat together with the white chocolate and raspberry cheesecake. The evening was very enjoyable and will go back to try their Sunday lunch...if there is any criticism it would be perhaps a

If you want a really good meal and somewhere that caters for DF and GF foods, this is the place. Not particularly cheap but so worth it. It's in a beautiful rural spot, lovely garden and whilst it does not have a 'children's' specific menu, will certainly do their best to adapt what they have to give smaller portions: all food is fresh and not frozen. Devine's puds too, if that's your thing. Totally recommend a visit: it's so worth it.

Food OK but not anything special. The price was high for what we got. Pub food trying to be up-market. It just isn't. I had a duck meal and my partner does it better.

Decor and food was good.
However food portion sizes were small.
Service could have also been a bit better. As we had to prompt them for the courtesy bread and butter. They also got one of our drink orders wrong.
The place is otherwise good. They just need to improve their service then it will be great

Lovely warm atmosphere and welcome. Efficient and pleasant waiter. Food was delicious and plentiful, well worth the money. Will definitely go again. Would advise booking in advance both evening and lunch time to avoid disappointment.

We had visited this restaurant a number of times and really enjoyed the experience but on this occasion we were disappointed. The food did not meet the high standards we had come to expect, the portion sizes were much smaller and the food less tasty to that we had on previously enjoyed so much so we left before the desserts and coffee. However, the service and presentation were very good. After this experience it is unlikely we will be visiting this restaurant again.

Really nice pub in picturesque location. Excellent drink selection. Staff were friendly, helpful and very attentive to any additional needs. Food was very good but a bit pricey for what it was. Would recommend it.

Booked on the strength of the reviews online we were most impressed. The food was excellent, fresh and of the highest quality. The ambience spot on. The staff attentive. And the owner very polite and considerate. We sat by the fire after our meal and enjoyed a drink and a chat with him. We would highly recommend this venue for any occasion.
