Our nursery opened in 1996 in response to the growing need for childcare required by Service Personnel, MOD civilians and contractors working within HMS Collingwood and other local military establishments. Services
We promote a relaxed, calm and homely environment supported by a team of caring, qualified and experienced staff, who follow each child's personal routine. Our aim is to encourage an interest in learning using direct experiences to develop concepts, acquire skills and use language effectively.
The nursery and preschool are arranged so that children experience freedom of choice, where they are supported and encouraged to join in with the opportunities and activities available, whilst learning at their own pace.Children are born ready, able and eager to learn. They actively reach out to interact with other people and in the world around them.

The Baby room caters for up to 12 babies from 6 months old. It has a separate sleep room, milk preparation kitchen and secure nappy changing facilities. Each baby's day is flexible, different and parent led. We are happy to feed your baby expressed milk or formula supplied by you. Feeding and sleeping are gently worked into a routine which suits each baby's individual needs.
The Toddlers Room caters for up to 24 children from 2 to 3 years old. The large room has a carpeted area for soft play and a hard floor area for games and creative activities. It is light and airy and has direct access to the garden. The room is welcoming and extremely well equipped with educational toys and games, it is a hive of activity, whether the children are baking biscuits, getting messy with paint or reading stories, it's all great fun.
Our large Preschool area caters for up to 32 children for the year before they leave for school. The Preschool is a free-flowing, continuous provision that enables each child to access a number of fun and exciting areas. We provide a balanced provision of adult supported and play experiences. We ensure our preschool room includes complexity and challenge, with the aim of encouraging children's initiative and development of skills.
Outdoor play is an important part of learning and development and encourages children to practice and master their emerging physical skills. One of our unique features is the large outdoor area, which provides the children with endless opportunities to fully explore their natural surroundings.
Our secure environment is shared by all of our babies and children where they gain a variety of learning opportunities, promoting each child's individuality.Children love to go outside in all weathers and rainy and snowy days are enjoyed with wellies and all in one suits.
