Services
If your purchase is a present, we can gift wrap it for you; if you can't get out to the shops we can deliver to your home. There are many talented novelists in the area and we hold copies of their works in the shop. We are very proud of our neighbourhood and this is reflected in a varied range of lovely products.
If you're looking for ideas, you might be inspired by some of the books our local Book Groups are reading. On a dark midwinter's night in an ancient inn on the Thames, the regulars are entertaining themselves by telling stories when the door bursts open and in steps an injured stranger. In his arms is the drowned corpse of a child.
We have a regular programme of events, and in particular we love to support local authors. Here are a few of the books we have launched recently. If you are interested in finding out more, keep an eye on 'Forthcoming Events' on our Home Page, or add your name to our mailing list and we will keep you posted that way.
We participate in the National Book Tokens scheme so you can buy or redeem your Gift Cards with us. Gift cards are the same size and shape as a credit card and can be loaded with any value from 1 to 250. They can also be topped up to the maximum value. They can be redeemed in any high street book shop including all the major chain booksellers.

The friendliness and customer service is next to none😍 I ordered some gift vouchers for my sister in April and the service was excellent. I wanted to order more in October and Fiona remembered me (or took the time to trace back) and provided yet another excellent service, ensuring the gift arrived with my sister on time. It's great to be able to support local businesses and with this sort of friendly, personal service, why wouldn't you!!😊

Amazing independent bookshop, still running in the age of Amazon and for good reason. They have a diverse and well curated regular stock, including classics and books by local authors, and any books they do not have can be ordered for the next day!
The staff are all friendly and have a love of books, which is very important.
This bookshop has cared for my reading habits from the cradle and will do so until the grave!
