Tracy and Stephen Pepper and their 4 children offer a warm welcome at the farm. The Pepper family have been farming at Windle House Farm for 2 generations now, since 1964. We have always taken great pride in our livestock and have consequently taken part and won several major shows over the past 25 years.
Our farm is set in idyllic reservoir land offering beautiful scenery in the heart of Bronte Country situated right next to the famous Haworth Moor and a few minutes drive from the Worth Valley steam railway. The farm was awarded Diversification of the Year 2020 by the Northern Farmer Awards.

Now this award doesn't necessarily have to be given for anything to do with horses, but it is for any of our members who have achieved something remarkable. They have taken Windle House Farm to new heights this year. For those who may not be aware, Windle House Farm is a petting farm in Oxenhope and it is brilliant.
EMOTIONS ran high as the cream of the crop of Northern farmers took their rightful place in the spotlight. The Northern Farmer Awards 2020 were once again a celebration of the best of the agricultural sector in the region. In front of an audience of 400 people at Pavilions of Harrogate, winners were announced in a range of categories from across the North of England.
A farm visit gives children the opportunity to connect with the living environment. Interacting with animals provides a very rich, hands-on learning experience in which both formal and informal education can flourish. One transaction is a maximum booking of 6 people but you can book multiple times if needed.
Our private walking experiences offer you a chance to really get up close and personal with our alpacas. Your private group will exclusively take these curious creatures for a stroll around the reservoir land at our farm in the outskirts of Bronte country. You can learn lots of fun facts about alpacas and afterwards meet the rest of the herd for photos!
All walks are supervised/led by a suitably trained and experienced person. Visitors are not permitted to take the alpacas unaccompanied or leave the group with their alpaca. Walks include a safety briefing prior to commencement. Anyone not adhering to the information provided in the briefing may be asked to leave the walk without compensation.

We had a fantastic time for the pony experience. My son loved walking midnight around the reservoir and the pony grooming afterwards, then not forgetting the yummy mini cakes :) Would recommend this… experience to anyone looking for a few hours out with their children even on a winters morning as the hot choc soon warms you up ;) Tracy & Stephen are very welcoming and happy to talk about their animals answering the children’s many questions. Thankyou :) see you again soon

Had a lovely day for our daughters 4th Birthday party even with all the restrictions in place. Tracy and Stephen were great hosts and very accommodating. The setting is just beautiful and even though the farm… had been extended since our last visit all the pricing is still so reasonable. you can really tell it’s more than just a business to them x

Really good day. Staff very friendly and helpful. Great with children. The cakes are excellent, sandwiches/toasties simple but good and very reasonably priced. Highly recommend. Easy to spend a couple of hours and if good weather longer. We will definitely go a few times a year now.
Only improvement I would suggest is maybe a little sign about each animal to give a bit more detail. Name, breed, diet or other facts. Still 5*.

My friends thought I was mad to be going camping just 5 minutes from home...but WOW, what a place. There is so much for the kids to do (big kids included) in a fantastic location. The views are breathtaking, the activities on offer are great fun and the place runs very smoothly. All because of the hard work and dedication of the wonderful hosts and their family. There is clearly a lot of pride in this family run business and you can definitely tell! Will defo be coming again!

I visited just for a few hours - we are local & already enjoy the incredible views etc however Windle House Farm is another level of tranquillity. You look out and can barely see another house, no road noise hummimg away in the background just the birds and the animals. I was with my 2 young children (2&3) they absolutely loved the access to the animals & the freedom that such isolation allows. We were very warmly welcomed by the pepper family - the older boys were brilliant hosts & very talented animal catchers - they were able to keep up with the kids wanting to see various different animals

Absolutely brilliant afternoon down on the farm from petting the animals to playing in the wonderful fresh clean air the babies loved every minute. Jack the eldest of the children is a lovely lad informative and great with the kids a credit to his mum and dad. Had lunch there just a sandwich but it was delicious.nothing was too much trouble and all for such a reasonable price. We will definitely be returning. Rowan and Arliah wouldn’t let us get away with not coming back.

We have now done 2 end of season camps at this site with a large group. The site is set in a beautiful location with amazing views.
For both stays we have ordered the breakfast packs and during our 2nd stay we had the option of having a hot meal cooked and served in the barn, the food is great value for money and there’s something special about fresh milk from a glass bottle!
The owners are working hard to make it a site you want to keep going back to and are so welcoming and helpful if there’s anything you need during your stay.
We will be back again for at least one visit this year as

Had a great weekend staying in the Shepherds Hut at the Windle House Farm Camping and Glamping. Was really nice, lovely location and cracking views. Shepherds Hut was lovely nice comfy double bed just take your own bedding and gas BBQ outside.
Toilet, shower and kitchen with microwave, toaster, small cooker, fridge and washing up facilities and even better with a washer and dryer - this was just a short walk to the campsite.
Whilst its a working farm - loved the lambs, cattle, hens and the donkey.
Booked a meat pack - brilliant value burgers, sausages, eggs, bacon and 1 pt milk.

Great evening visit (I was unable to join my friends for the full camping weekend) up to Windle House Farm. Pie supper was delicious with plentiful portions and seconds were also offered, breakfast I was told was great too. Would definitely recommend a camping visit here, great place for children to be children and have lots of fun and learn about farm life. Tracy and her lovely family were very accommodating and nothing was too much trouble.
