Services
Lynda and Martyn Cripps have run the award-winning Longboat Inn in Penzance for over 20 years. During this time, many changes have been introduced, from refurbishments to fresh ideas for an evolving menu. We aim to be as eco-friendly as possible from low energy lighting to staff awareness, winning a National award in 2013.
Located in one of the worlds's most beautiful bays, Penzance is one of the friendliest towns in Cornwall. For a thriving market town, Penzance still manages to be true to its heritage, maintaining an "olde worlde" atmosphere. With its long promenade, lovely beach, delightful gardens and atmospheric harbour, Penzance is a desirable seaside location.
Open to residents and guests 7 days a week, our award-winning traditional bar offers a warm welcome with an inviting atmosphere, stocking a wide range of beers & ales, wines & spirits, as well as an array of soft drinks & coffees. By adding a variety of flavours to the Cornish Mead base, the Cornish Mead Company has produced a distinctive range of wines, reviving the art of Mead-making, preserved for centuries in Cornwall.
A varied menu of home-made dishes is served in our restaurants daily, providing a choice for all the family. The chefs produce a selection of home-made dishes using locally sourced produce. Some herbs, vegetables and fruit are grown in our own kitchen garden. As "National Family Friendly Pub 2013", we aim to provide a tasty, fresh menu for all, including a children's' menu and our "Golden Years" menu.
Open 365 days a year, the Longboat Inn offers seventeen beautifully decorated, traditional guest rooms presented with a modern twist while still retaining the character of the 18th century building. All guest rooms have modern en-suites and are equipped with LCD flat screen, Free-view TVs, hair-dryers, coffee& tea-making facilities, free Wi-Fi and most rooms have LAN connections, iron and ironing board on request.

I spent 5 days staying here and would go back; it is very clean and tidy, the staff are all polite, friendly and nothing is too much trouble plus the food is really good and generous portions are served. It is also a good location just a shame they don't have a car park.

I fortunately spent here just two nights: the price we paid for the room didn’t satisfy the expectations. Smelly room (even if we left the window open the all day long, nothing changed); really spartan bathroom (no place where to put basic things like shampoo or beauty case, no toilet brush) and poor dairy-free breakfast (my booking included daily breakfast, but the day of departure I didn’t get any coffee or tea. The staff told us that the kitchen was getting ready for lunchtime, so nothing more than cereals was available). I definitely would not recommend this place.

Me and my boyfriend have come to stay in Penzance for our anniversary and decided to go here for some drinks to celebrate. The staff here were absolutely amazing especially one member off staff in particular who’s name was Ben. He was very friendly and happy to help with anything. He was so kind that even his shift was over he helped us find a local shop. Cannot fault it at all. Will most definitely be returning again and would happily recommend to anyone.

I had a nice and peaceful stay in a single room, the bed was very comfortable and the room had a television and tea / coffee. The only reason I haven't gave 5 stars is because the shower kept tripping the fuse, I only stayed one night so not much of a problem, but if I was to stay longer it would annoy me. Apart from that it was nice, clean and comfortable, the staff were friendly and helpful and the breakfast was good too. I would stay again.

A lovely pub for a drink. Staff are polite and all helpful unfortunately on this occasion we ordered food and the chicken melt was not good at all. Chicken was chewy and tasted funny. The manager was helpful and sorted this out for us. Despite this particular meal being bad I would still revisit for drinks

The food was fantastic here. We ate here twice and it really was very good. The goujons were one of the best starters I’ve ever had. The service can be a bit slow though. Would recommend eating here 100% and would return if i was in the area.

Have visited here many times over the years. Has reasonably priced rooms, extensive food menu served throughout the day and a wide range of drinks. Always a few well kept real ales. Service is a little slower than usual at the moment due to govt restrictions but am sure this will be back to normal when govt restrictions are lifted. Great location in Penzance, relaxed venue.
