Whatever time of day you are looking for a welcoming and relaxing place for tasty food and delicious drinks then come and have a look at what is on offer at Blacks of Chapel Street. If you are in need of liquid refreshment then we can offer you a range of drinks. These include proper coffee (based on the award-winning Fat Roc brand), Novus teas and non-alcoholic beverages.

If you prefer something alcoholic then check the wine from our well-stocked cellar. Or why not treat yourself to some of the exciting and unusual beers we have, many from Cornwall? Whether you're looking for a hearty brunch, a light bite for lunch, a sharing platter for friends or a three-course meal, your day out wouldn't be complete without a visit to Blacks of Chapel Street.
Services
Have a look at the options from our Daytime Food Menu for your lunch in Penzance. We pride ourselves in supporting our local producers which, in turn, allows our chefs to create an exciting seasonally varied menu from the land and sea around Cornwall. Don't forget to check out our Specials Board, but please bear in mind this is only an example and can change from day to day as demand is high!
In addition to our seasonal menu, we run a daily Specials menu that provides you with the freshest, tastiest local ingredients we can get our hands on. We do put considerable emphasis on the fresh fish that is landed daily at Newlyn Fish Market. We are very fortunate to have a great relationship with our fish suppliers and get regular early morning updates from the market to choose from.
We have a brand new wine list for summer 2020! Why? Well after running with our previous wine list for nearly two years - which proved very popular - we decided to explore some new and exciting offerings to 'up our game' at Blacks of Chapel Street. We're delighted to have found a really knowledgeable local supplier for whom nothing is too much bother - just like how we like to operate.
Relax with a carefully crafted concoction from the Cocktail Menu at Blacks of Chapel Street. Ignore James Bond's famous instructions and stir this vodka-based Martini instead of shaking. As the British author, W. Somerset Maugham once stated, "Martinis should always be stirred, not shaken so that the molecules lie sensuously one on top of the other."
We are open again and so looking forward to welcoming you back to Blacks of Chapel Street. We have a new menu to tempt your taste buds, and with our talented kitchen team back doing what they love, we will be collecting lots of great images to share on a new website that we are planning for later this summer.

I wouldn't go back and I wouldn't recommend it.

I was impressed. Food was lovely - beautifully presented from a not TOO large menu. (Always a good sign.) Service was excellent too - friendly and attentive. We rarely eat out so this was a real treat and I would look forward to another visit.
Well done, Blacks of Chapel Street.10/10

Took an hour before our food came, ordered the seafood platter for 2 at a cost of £60, no where near worth the money, certainly didn't expect to get served oven chips with it! definitely over priced. Would not go again.

A surprise find in arriving in Penzance. The menu looked good, but would the quality match the price? Yes, absolutely! It did! The seafood dishes we took were fresh and packed with flavor. There was also an extensive wine list from which we chose a delightful wine. The staff were pleasant enough. The interior was contemporary but perhaps a little bland. In summary the food was great, the place lacked a vibe (a personal opinion) but overall I would recommend it.

Amazing restaurant find in Penzance. We got the seafood platter for 2 from the specials that night. They were actually all sold out by the time of our reservation but one of the managers was super nice and tailor made one from what they had left in the kitchen. The fish and prawns tasted very nice and the scallops in particular were great and perfectly cooked. The food was all fresh. 4/5 stars
