Services
Canterbury Road Day Nursery is a well-established family focussed nursery in Urmston with strong links with the community. We strive to create a happy atmosphere where the children in our care can become curious learners and investigators by exploring with authentic resources that children can relate to the real world.
Philippa is a highly committed and experienced early years professional and a mum to five beautiful children. Philippa has been part of the Canterbury team since 2014 and progressed to Deputy Manager in 2018. Philippa hold a First Class BA Hons in Education and is currently working towards her BSc in Psychology.
Here at Canterbury Road Day Nursery our commitment to ensuring that children are provided with healthy balanced meals, is shown by our award from Trafford as an Early Years Healthy Setting. Our meals are balanced, nutritional and prepared freshly onsite by our nursery chef who ensures the menus are inspiring, so that healthy eating is embedded in your child's experiences from the day they start their journey with us.
Here at Canterbury Road Day Nursery we acknowledge parents as a child's first educator. We ensure we work closely with our families from the start of their journey with us until their child's last day here at nursery, providing a collaborative and consistent learning approach to their child's learning and development.
Melita loves her time at the nursery, she gets up to all sorts of different and imaginative things every day. She has developed so much over the last few years and a lot of that has come from the time and effort that the nursery puts in each an every day. All the girls are really friendly, and they put a lot of effort into caring for the children.

Couldn’t recommend CRDN enough! We knew as soon as we viewed it that this was the nursery for us. My son has been here for a few months now and has settled in so well, always has a great time and has developed loads. The staff are all so lovely, caring and professional and put my mind at ease straight away when he was settling in. I love the detailed daily updates we get and also the posts they do on their social media pages! Thank you for taking such good care of him!

I am very happy with the care and support we receive from CRDN. The staff are warm and friendly and the daily updates I receive show that my little boy is having lots of fun at nursery. My granddaughter has been attending your nursery since she was 3 months old and is now 2 and a half. We were quite nervous about leaving her at such a young age however we were reassured by the highly qualified and experienced team who listened to our every need.The amount of sign language that she has learnt and uses is amazing. The practitioner's knowledge and understanding of how to teach and encourage signing of outstanding. Thank you x

We are relatively new to this nursery as we moved to the area. It's always a worry uprouting your child from a setting where they've been settled for so long and happy. We honestly couldn't be more pleased, Canterbury road have welcomed both our little ones with open arms, and made every step of their settling into this new environment fun, and exciting. We would highly recommend this nursery to others, the staff are professional, friendly, they take a personal interest in each and every child and they couldn't do more for you.

I started working at Canterbury Road day nursery 2months ago, since I started I have loved every minute. I have been supported by all the team especially the management who have gone above and beyond to ensure a happy, safe environment for everyone to be.
It is so nice to see all staff happy and working together and the care for the children is incredible. The staff turnover is very low and that is thanks to our management team Mel and Philippa who really do work so hard and do an outstanding job.
All children are always happy and engaged on a daily basis due to the incredible resources and activities

My daughter has been attending this nursery for nearly a year and absolutely loves it. The staff are absolutely amazing with her and are always helpful. I have a daily report on how she has been and what she has been up to. They have really helped with her developmental and Identifying the areas she is doing well in and challenging her to make sure she is always learning and progressing. The management team always have time for any questions or queries that I have, no matter how big or small they are.

I have worked at the nursery for over 7 years and have seen and experienced positive changes since Mel and Philippa have taken over.
The children and parents are happy, the staff are much happier and it shows in the low staff turnover, as well as the enticing and exciting activities that are planned daily.

My twin boys have been at this nursery since they were 8 months old. I was very anxious about them going to nursery so young, but they settled in quickly thanks to the lovely staff in the baby room, who made them and us feel completely at ease. The moves from one room to the next are done very gradually, so when the children finally move up for good they know the room, the staff and the other children completely. My son goes to this nursery. As a teacher and previously, a nursery nurse, I was very particular about which nursery to choose. From the moment we walked in the staff were friendly and caring, all interacting with my son as we toured the nursery.
