Urmston Aquatics has been leading the way in the Aquatic and Reptile industry since 1997, it was originally opened in a small shop in the town centre of Urmston by Steve Croft and his wife Claire. Over the next 10 years the business grew to be one of the most popular in the North of England, each year attracting more and more customers from wider afield and launching one of the UK's first online stores for pet keepers.
In 2010 the store outgrew it's humble smaller shop and moved 1 mile down the road to a store over 8 times the original size. Between 2010 - 2019 the store continued to go from strength to strength.

Urmston Aquatics are absolutely great, my wife bought me the Blagdon Affinity half moon pond for Christmas 2020 and I set the pond up in March 2021. In December 21 I had a fault with the transformers supplying the pump and the UVC lamp, we contacted Urmston Aquatics and explained the unfortunate situation.
The guy we spoke to could not be more helpful, he run through all the possible issues and solutions, which I tried without success.
He immediately offered to replace the transformer for the pump and asked if I could package and send back the transformer for the UVC.
Within 5 days I received

This LFS while being 110 miles away from my home was great. I ordered an Oak Style Aqua One 230. I love the tank however the light unit broke after 6 weeks. I contacted the shop online at first and struggled to get much communication. I called them and all the issues were solved in 4 days. I got a brand new light unit in addition to buying a new Oase Biomaster Therma 600. I took a tour of their fish setup and there was a great choice and they looked outstanding. Especially the German rams. I will be using this company again. Even with the distance issue. I only rated 4 stars due to the slight communication

Purchased 4 fish on the 13th September from here (the right size and temperament for our tank). By Friday 17th 50% of our tank had died including the four purchased and some real stand out fish. An otherwise healthy and established tank with regular water checks gone thanks to the fish purchased from here. When we phoned very little help or advice was given merely to bring in water samples and carcasses and they would exchange the £18 worth of sales for new fish. Avoid at all costs if you have a healthy thriving tank!!!!

Our go-to pet shop for good advice and quality food especially of rats for our ball python but also for our fish and hamster. They also sell food and supplies for most common pets like dogs, cats, birds etc. The staff is nice and knowledgeable, the shop clean and the few animals they have are in good quality vivariums, it's great to have this shop round the corner from us.

The staff we're so knowledgeable, and helpful getting us set up for our snake's bioactive viv up grade. We went for reptile supplies, and they definitely do reptiles as well as aquariums. Got the terrarium, lighting, substrate, springtails and a couple pieces of decor from them. Pretty sure we will be heading back in the future.

Placed an online order for in stock items processed the transaction and paid. The following day I received a phone call from someone who continually referred to me as "my friend" given I hadn't spoken with him before and that he had not introduced himself I found this a little odd but not something I would slate anyone for.
I was told that the "in stock" items I had ordered were out of stock but would be in stock in 4 days. This is technically fraud by misrepresentation. When I asked what he proposed I was

Stephen - We will have to agree to disagree on this one, and I will not be rebutting your denials after this post. However, I stand by my review, as Urmston could not deliver on my original order and I am financially worse off from having used your online service. Those are the facts. I agree that Urmston has some good reviews but there are also some bad ones around (not including my own); I have looked. Please note that the first unit was faulty AND discontinued (which is worrying at many levels). The second unit was faulty. Urmston Aquatics categorically stated to me in writing that they

For a small business they sure don't let it show through their vast knowledge, huge stock of whatever you could possibly need for an animal and the pets themselves!
Thoroughly enjoyed looking around at this place before seeking help from the people that worked there about my boyfriends axolotl and the new tank he needed advice on. They provided excellent advice - better than some chains - and helped by testing the water from the tank. Bought some cool ornaments for the tank at decent prices!
