I'm Matthew Humphrys and I am the owner and chief engineer/producer at Cedar West. I love music and have studied and worked in it all my life. It has been a long term ambition of mine to build an acoustically sound recording studio that focuses on sound quality and provides a fun, motivating environment for artists to work in-and Cedar West is it.
I have produced for artists from all over the country and in many different genres from Pop to Rap, Country and Classical. I am not simply a 'musical scientist' behind a mixing desk - I am first and foremost a musician myself and passionate about many genres with an incredibly varied musical background that spans work in Choirs (including Westminster Abbey), Orchestras, a Pop Boyband, Piano playing (I am grade 8) and much more.

Services
The studio is regularly cleaned with an antibacterial/anti microbial cleaning solution. You are required to wash your hands before entering. Only the artist recording is allowed to be present. Parents of children must sit in the live room where their child will record, rather than the control room with the producer.

Matthew was great to work with. Thoroughly professional and well prepared and happy to listen to and work with our ideas, as well as guide us (Never2Late) through the process. Great atmosphere and we felt relaxed and not intimidated during the recording session. Always answers texts and emails promptly and constantly kept us in the loop during mixing and mastering.Recommended.

Matthew is an amazing Engineer and producer, he is an amazing musician all round. His great ear for amazing sound quality makes him a wonderful vocal coach. The quality of production is far beyond any other studio. Having recorded in a fair number of studios from standard to high end, Cedar West definitely gives them all a run for their money!… Nothing can top the hospitality and good vibe at Cedar Wood, no expense has been spared and no detail overlooked. Any newcomer will soon feel welcomed, at ease and most importantly encouraged, which i find makes a difference when working at your craft

Cedar West Studios is a truly fantastic recording studio and is fully equipped with more software/hardware than you can shake a stick at. However, this is only as good and useful as the man at the dials, and thankfully, the man at the dials in this particular instance is a talented producer with a fantastic musical ear and great technically… ability.
