Sandy Lane Primary School
Our aim is to provide a school community which embraces excellence for all. Pupils, parents, staff and volunteers work together in order to recognise and achieve their highest aspirations; knowing that to achieve the greatest for oneself is the very foundation of fulfilling potential for all. Our aim is to provide a clear pathway to everyone's highest aspiration.

A wider world of opportunities introduced by the use of a creative curriculum design with imaginative use of resources and partners across the community. We will use the skills of resilience and self-awareness to instil a passion for new learning experiences. Using these crucial life skills to dissolve barriers and embrace a future of life-long learning and success in our chosen path.
Services
Sandy Lane is a large Primary School in Bradford Local Authority. It was established as a small Victorian school 130 years ago, and is currently a one and a half form entry school taking 45 pupils into Reception each year. We have children from the age of 4 to 11 years, in 7 year groups divided between 11 classes.
The Governing Body consists of parents, teachers, members of the local community and people appointed by the Local Authority. Advice, support and training are provided by the School Governors Service to help Governors fulfil their legal requirements. The school employs a Governors' Clerk to deal with agendas, minutes and correspondence but Governors themselves do not receive any payment for carrying out their duties.
At Sandy Lane Primary we offer a 'Thematic' curriculum across the school which offers interesting and exciting learning opportunities for all children in class as well as regularly going out and about on educational visits. If you need any further information please contact your child's class teacher in the first instance.
At Sandy Lane Primary School, our Year 5 pupils attend swimming lessons for half of the year. They are taken by bus to the local swimming pool accompanied by a member of Year 5 teaching staff and Learning Support Assistants. For the 2017 to 2018 academic year, there is a new condition requiring schools to publish how many pupils within their year 6 cohort are meeting the national curriculum requirements.
Child Tax Credit with an annual income of less than 16,190, provided they are not receiving Working Tax Credit. Support under Part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999 (you will need to apply directly to the school not Bradford Council). Working Tax Credit run-on (paid for 4 weeks after you stop qualifying for Working Tax Credit).
