Some large items are out of stock. All our pottery is high fired stoneware, making it practical to use every day. Suitable to use in the oven, microwave and dishwasher, it is perfectly suited to contemporary living. Everything that we make is individual and unique; the pots continually evolving and changing.

For six decades Canterbury Pottery has been supplying handmade pottery for ecclesiastic use. Our pottery Communion Sets are individually decorated with the distinctive Canterbury Cross and are practical to use as well as being beautiful to look at. Our Chalices and Patens are in regular use throughout the world.
We love having friends and family round to share a meal, the house full of chatting and laughter, whilst delicious aromas tantalise from the kitchen. Making the table setting look pretty is a big part of successful entertaining. Our handmade pottery Jugs are pretty and practical. Each one is thrown, shaped, handled and glazed by hand and come in a wide variety of sizes and shapes. Our 2.2 pints Jug is popular for Pimms but also looks fabulous filled with fresh flowers. There's a jug designed specially to fit in the fridge door and Gravy Jugs that come with matching saucers.
For sizzling Lasagnes and bubbling casseroles oven to table, food tastes more delicious when served from a beautiful dish. Our fantastic oven dishes allow you to serve a lasagne, quiche, crumble or a casserole straight from your oven onto the table with a flourish. You will be delighted with how well our gorgeous oven dishes cook your food and then how easy they are to wash up.

BEWARE!!!! If I could have put no stars I would have. Wrong order sent, sorted on phone and sent back. They obviously wanted me to keep the item, but not what I ordered. When contacted to ask when correct item would be sent, told me money returned and wouldn't send replacement. I was absolutely horrified and gobsmacked at Jan Chapmans tone of voice and attitude towards me on the phone. AVOID ordering online.

Absolutely beautiful pottery. Their wares look really beautiful in any kitchen and on any dining table - we always get compliments about our plates and chicken egg basket. I asked if they could make me a custom jar with a sheep handle and they readily did so - they even did two versions in case I didn't like the first one, which had a slightly smaller handle. Lovely service in the shop and it's fun to watch the owner make the pottery while you're there. The main reason we now come to Canterbury is to visit - highly recommend!
