The Bay Horse Inn
Craig has been at the Bay Horse with his parents for 24 years. During this time, the reputation for consistently high quality food has grown. Dishes such as slow cooked Goosnargh duck legs and his Sunday roast of Lancashire Sirloin have quite a following. Craig is commited to his work in the kitchen and leads the team through every shift.

In summer 2015 Nicola, his wife (previosuly a teacher) joined the team and she and Craig hope to build upon the successes of his parents as they look to the future. She oversees staff recruitment and management and is as happy to be found serving customers as working on publicity and marketing events.
Services
We are proud of our reputation as a place for celebrations: from birthdays and anniversaries to intimate weddings. Willow Barn, in the gardens of the Bay Horse, now allows us to cater for celebrations on a grander scale. Have a look through the example packages below to get an idea of what we offer and of course, please get in touch if you would like further information or to discuss your requirements.
We are located 5 minutes south of Junction 33 of the M6 - ideal for breaking a journey whilst heading North or South. The historic market town of Garstang and city of Lancaster are both just a 10 minute drive away: they offer independent shops, galleries, coffee bars and culture as well as providing plenty of places to stay.

Lovely staff, food and beer. The food is a bit on the pricey side. Free overnight campervan parking if you have a meal is great though.

Really blown away by the most amazing food. The lamb shanks are the best I have eaten anywhere. The service is excellent and I could not recommend it more. Such a great atmosphere.

Had a lovely lunch here with friends today. The food was delicious and reasonably priced. The young ladies serving us were very attentive and friendly try re a credit to the owners of the Bay Horse. I will definitely be visiting again and would recommend anyone in the area to book a table and enjoy it too!

Just had the Sunday evening set menu (Sunday lunch). Not something that would normally float my boat but I have to admit the beef (and they mean pink but NOT bloody) was tasty and nicely done. Large roasted potato cooked to perfection (hint of duck fat?) and crisp Yorkshire pudding (perhaps slightly overdone). Sharon had the cod with creamed leak sauce "delicious". Outside are looks nice (see photo) but would need a warm day!

Beautiful garden looking out onto nothing but countryside and cows. Absolutely idyllic.
Stopped for a Sunday roast en route to the lake district and it was simply amazing. Beautifully cooked and presented. Very generous portions. The interior could maybe do with a slight face-lift but it's still a very authentic, warm, country pub.
Wonderful.

Good food though not spectacular, limited choice
More a restaurant than a pub.
Staff not too helpful, possibly a training issue.
No 4G, so absence of wi-fi a big problem as we wished to chat about what to do the next day

We had an absolutely fantastic evening celebrating my 60th Birthday with my very large and lively family at the Bay Horse Inn. The food was divine and having the dining room to ourselves (as well as easy access to the beautiful garden) made my party just so special. Craig is a fantastic chef, and Nicola and Becca made sure everything went without a hitch. Thank you, thank you we shall be back xx

This a really nice gastro pub. The food is great but is upmarket and more expensive than the standard pub food. The beer is good too.

Booked for a Saturday while returning from Scotland including a B&B close as my Dad loved this pub, turned up to find it closed for a wedding. On the brightside it allowed us to find the Patten Arms that kindy fitted us in and my parents said the food was better.

We booked 5 days in advance from Scotland to eat in this pub, as my parents in law wished to go back here, and on our 5-hour-way back to the West Midlands we arrived here on Saturday evening at 7pm (as booked) just to find this sign on the front door: "Closed today for a wedding party". Genuinely happy for them but... could somebody have bothered to ring us and bloody tell us?!? Thank you
