We received a fantastic service from start to finish, from the initial test, through explaining our deficiency to trying glasses out and finally choosing frames that suited us. Can't wait to receive our orders next week.

Not being able to see some colours is a common condition. EnChroma have created lenses that allow some people with colour blindness to see colour for the first time. And we have them here, at EYES on St Albans.
All the various EnChroma lenses are available as either prescription single vision and varifocal or non prescription, these lenses may be fitted into your own frame (subject to quality check) or any frame/sunglass from our extensive in store independent eyewear collections.We were delighted that one of our first clients to try EnChroma recorded the whole experience.

You've had your eye examination, your Optometrist will have written up your prescription and made recommendations and then you go off to choose a frame. Second visit to EYES; this time to treat myself to some new glasses as couldn’t help but eye up (see what I did there) their beautiful range of frames on my first visit.
I can honestly say that I’ve never chosen a frame so quickly and that was all thanks to Jez who just plucked the frames that would suit me, also getting me to try frames that I may not have considered. After only 5 mins I had about 3 contenders!! My mind was made up only 5 mins later (a miracle!) and I collected my beautiful glasses the following week.

If you're after a huge range of glasses and fantastic customer service then this is the place for you . My husband and I wandered in between Christmas and New Year unsure of what we wanted but looking for something different, age appropriate but not 'wacky'! Within seconds Jez handed me the perfect pair and minutes later found exactly what my husband was after too. 1000% would recommend EYES on St Albans if you have a colour vision deficiency. I was skeptical about whether EnChroma glasses would actually work, but during my visit I got to try on the different lenses available and could see the difference for myself in the fruit/veg section of M&S. I appreciate Jez taking the time to explain how the lenses worked, how I'd be able to get the most out of them, and answering any questions that I had. Thank you again!

Eyes on St Albans is the best Opticians I’ve ever been to. I’ve worn glasses for about 48 years and the service I received from Jez is second to none. He took his time in making sure I got the right frames I wanted and listened to my optical needs. As soon as I chose my frames and did my eye test, my lenses came back in no time.

I also were Kirk & Kirk so to hear the back story of the brand from Jez was so lovely.
Jez is very friendly, thorough, professional and his product knowledge is second to none.
He made us feel we were the only people that mattered to him that day…. A true gentleman.
If you need to visit an opticians you can’t go wrong with Eyes on St Albans.
The experience will leave you smiling all day.

Amazing service from Mira and Jez A really thorough consultation that looked at health and lifestyle as well as the prescription. Discovered my eyes watering all the time was actually dry eyes and found exactly the right solution for me. Then Jez magically found the perfect frames from a huge selection. Would recommend for really personal service and help with the style and the substance of your new glasses. Thanks

I would like to thank a great deal Jezz at "Eyes on Saint Albans". A few years ago I read about Enchroma glasses. I wanted to try them but nowhere in the UK were they available. I live in Cumbria and contacted Jezz who was the 1st UK supplier. He was willing to send me a pair to try of the darker C3 glasses And later a pair of the lighter… C2 glasses. The C3 glasses are very good but need really to be in sunshine or reasonably bright conditions. The difference to me was not sensational as it seems to be for certain people but certainly did improve my colour vision. I found that I was naming

I wasn't sure what I had walked into but loved it and found myself not wanting to leave. Even if you don't need glasses or an eye test you should visit this shop.
Jez and his team are incredible. Creating an experience in what is usually a mundane thing to do.
The eye examination was so in depth it was like having a full medical of the eyes. And all for only £35!!!
The glasses on offer are interesting, unique, very fashionable and stylish. They have everything to suit with only 1 rule, COOOOOOL!!!!

I highly recommend Jez. His helpfulness and advice has saved me best part of £200 after an incident with my toddler and my glasses. I ordered a replacement frame and he re-fitted my existing lenses, he also did a temp fix on my old frames while the new frames came in to save my blushes! No sticky tape needed here! Definitely give them a shot for your next test in the comfort of knowing they’ll help in any way they can.

I cant recommed this place enough, the staff were amazing and so friendly and took the time to explain why to us about colour blindness and how it happens. My son didnt want to even try on the enchroma glasses and was adament he wouldnt want them, well that all changed as soon as he tried them on and could see colour properly for the first time,… he couldnt wait for his enchroma glasses to arrive - hes not taken them off. Theres no pressure to buy anything at all if you decide they are not for you, no rushing you if your appointment runs over either.

After a long year I was very glad to get my eyes tested by Meera at Eyes on St Albans. After she had worked out my new prescription Jez was excellent at helping me to pick up some new frames. While I never had any specific problems at the previous opticians I used it wasn't the personal service that I received with Meera and Jez and I won't hesitate to return when I need new glasses again.

I’m very pleased I went to Eyes On St. Albans and instead of buying online. I felt like the staff took their time to talk me through the facts, allowed me the opportunity to explore what seeing with different lenses was like and I got a shock realising the ‘orange’ flowers I thought I was looking at were actually bright green once I tried in the glasses! It also gave me the opportunity to try on different frames too.
If you’re colourblind and interested in seeing what the world actually looks like, I’d definitely recommend a visit!

Just recovered from the long drive from Yorkshire to EYES on At Albans and back and it was totally worth it! This is a super friendly and professional opticians and It goes without saying that they are Covid secure. I came down to try the enchroma glasses as I have a mild protanomaly colour deficiency. The lenses work so well for me and I was helped out to get some awesome frames to go with my new life changing glasses! Don't bother with big chain opticians, get yourself to EYES on St Albans. You won't be disappointed!

Fantastic place couldn’t recommend enough , The owner is super nice and he took the time to explain to my son (that has learning difficulties )about the types of colour blindness , he took the time to make sure we had the glasses that suited his needs Will be telling everyone i know about EYES On St Albans thank you
