Park Farm Riding School is a small, smartly kept yard of horses and ponies (all, except one, our own) ranging in size from quite small to quite large. Situated in the village of Preston within easy reach of Canterbury, Thanet, Dover and the Continent. We aim to educate children to become considerate and knowledgeable riders through lessons after school and at weekends or during the afternoon for school groups.
Services
Our lessons are well-planned, structured and varied, ensuring real progress at a comfortable rate. Our Skills Chart enables children to keep track of their progress and to set themselves new goals. Lessons are planned by Anne Seymour, who holds a degree in Education (B.Ed Hons) as well as her BHSAI.
Probably the most popular feature of Park Farm Riding School is our well-established Stable Management Club (SMC), available to all regular weekly riders aged 10+. Children learn all aspects of horsecare, being given increasing independence as their confidence grows. This knowledge can lead onto ABRS and BHS qualifications.
We offer a massive choice of fun-filled specials for school holidays, ranging from one hour to all day, from first-timer to competent rider, to suit all budgets. Own-a-pony mornings/afternoons/days (Ideal for newcomers who may not have been near a pony before). Cross country training at Denne Hill Cross Country Course for Pony Club Gold Award members.
The presence of English riders and members of the Stable Management Club means you can chat with lots of children your own age! Lessons are timetabled around the availability of horses/ponies for riding. At least 5 English lessons/week are guaranteed using a computer for grammar & vocabulary games, as well as local history and culture to make lessons interesting.
For those of you who prefer a hands-on approach, start a career path to becoming a fully qualified riding instructor at Park Farm Riding School. You will be gaining real work experience in a small, well run environment with the advantage of a well-structured, highly tailored course, coached by a BHSAI who also has a degree in education, and guided by an experienced mentor.

My daughter has been taking lessons here for 3 years now. We go at least twice a week, more in holidays.
We love it at this riding school. The lessons are instructive and also fun. The child is taught not only to ride but also how to care for the pony/horse.
When she reaches 10 years old she can train to do stable management , this teaches her to look after the ponies and their equipment.
The owners are friendly and welcoming.
My daughter is always excited to go, rain or snow, or sunshine!
The value for money is competitive and fair.
A beautifully run riding school, clean and tidy.

Run by incredibly passionate, kind and creative owners, this school teaches you not only how to ride properly (high quality training!) but also how to do so with consideration and respect for the horses (they use bitless bridles, show you how to take care of the animals after your ride...) ; and their excellent ranking amongst all British riding schools reflects it perfectly.
They organize a very wide range of fun, original activities, always coming up with new ideas!
As a foreign belgian student, I have been staying at Park Farm during the summer holidays for the past 11 years : I think that
