Grove Farm Riding School
Set in the idyllic village of Iden near Rye on the Kent/Sussex border, Grove Farm is in the ideal location for a riding school. We have over 60 acres of unspoilt land housing our livery stables and farmland with perfect bridleway hacking in and around Iden village. The riding school is situated safely away from any public roads, only accessible via a private road.

For those travelling by public transport the picturesque fishing harbour of Rye is our closest town with a railway station and a bus service to Iden. Those travelling by car can take advantage of the private car park on site which has ample parking space. We offer hacks, riding lessons and pony rides to all ages and levels of experience with qualified staff on hand to match the most suitable horses to their riders depending on experience.
Services
At Grove Farm we pride ourselves on being a small family run business, giving value for money and providing informal and informative riding lessons. We like to keep groups sizes restricted so everyone has plenty of opportunity to learn and 'have a go' at tasks we set during the lessons.

We try to allocate riders to ponies depending on abilities, matching skills of a similar type and childrens' lessons are held 3 afternoons a week after school and at the weekends.Intermediate and advanced sessions for group classes are available 2 days a week or at weekends. For the complete novice rider, whether adult or child, we offer lead rein classes to help you with your horse/pony until you are confident and capable of ride on your own.
Grove Farm and the natural landscape around Iden provide an amazing setting for hacking for riders of all levels of experience. The safety of the farm is provided for the beginner, or the more experience and confident riders can hack on the local bridleways. Group hacks are available to book throughout the week and at weekends.
The Centre Membership Scheme was introduced so that children and young people without their own pony could join and take part in Pony Club activities, the tests and achievement badges. Membership is open to anyone up to 25 years of age.

We want to broaden your knowledge of riding and horse and pony care, make you feel a part of a world-wide organisation which has given so many members great fun and help you achieve your goals in the equestrian world, whatever they may be.Pony Club tests are designed to improve your riding ability and knowledge of horse and pony care.
The Accessibility Mark has been designed by the RDA (Riding for the Disabled), in partnership with the British Equestrian Federation's participation brand, Hoof, to allow more people with disabilities to enjoy the benefits that horse riding can bring. Set in the beautiful Sussex countryside, Grove Farm Riding School offers an idyllic setting to learn to ride.
We offer 'DIY', assisted and full livery to cater for the individual needs of both horse and owner. Full livery includes all your horse's needs from feeding, mucking out, and general day to day care, however exercising is at extra cost. Assisted livery offers a 12' x 12' stable with turnout plus an assisted package to your own horse's requirements.

Quick response when I inquired by email for a short session for my young daughter as we are holidaying in the area.
Unfortunately I'm terrible with names so can't remember the lady's who took us on the hack but we had a lovely time and she is really knowledgeable and friendly.
I wouldn't hesitate to recommend and would definitely use again if ever back in the area

Came down to rye for a family holiday and decided try horse riding with my sister, both total newbies. We had ruby and georgia as our instructors who were both absolutely amazing very knowledgeable and such a treat to have as our instructors. We went for a lovely ride through the local village and orchards, stunning scenery. Worth every penny and will definitely be coming back soon. Thanks for an amazing day!

We booked last minute for a hack on Easter Sunday for me, my sister and her daughter. We don't have much experience with horses and enjoyed our 1h hack around the fields a lot. Jessi was most helpful and friendly and told us some interesting facts about horses on the way and time flew by. The horses were incredibly patient. Prices were really good as well and I can only recommend.
