Both of ours thoroughly enjoy their time at Ridgemount. We know they are safe and happy! As key worker parents during a stressful time, we are particularly grateful for the proactive, helpful and safe approach. My son recently started here. The staff have been great at settling him in and he's really happy here.

Services
At this age, babies are still getting to know the world around them, and sensory play is a fun way to help them explore, learn and grow. Our experienced team will ensure every child is happy and relaxed in this home-from-home setting. Outdoors, their dedicated space is specially designed to help our under twos learn through play, with the natural resources all around them.
Ridgemount Cottage Nursery School takes its name from the cottage grounds in which it is set - family home of our owner, Louise. She began the transformation of the cottage's bakery into Ridgemount Cottage Nursery School back in 1991. The outside space hosts an impressive purpose-built climbing-frame, as well as two spaces designed with the toddlers and babies in mind.
At Ridgemount Cottage Nursery we take pride in ensuring children and parents alike feel at ease when they join us. When your little one first starts, it's a good idea to send them in with some home comforts, like their favourite book and toy. The children have access to their drinks throughout the day so please send your child with a labelled drinks bottle.
Our dedicated in-house chef, Marie, works hard to create seasonal menus that provide healthy and wholesome meals for your little ones to enjoy. If you're child has just started eating solids, we will follow your lead, offering pureed or mashed equivalents of the meals, dependent on their current stage.
It can also be accessed by Ridgemount Cottage. It will help you keep up to date with day-to-day activities in the nursery. Our team update the page daily with notices and it's a quick and easy way for you to communicate with us. Our staff will also keep you informed here with how your child is developing in line with Early Years Foundation Stages, or EYFS.

It goes without saying this year has been unprecedented for many!
Ridgemount has gone above and beyond to ensure that they have provided quality childcare in a safe and secure environment.
As both an employee and a parent at Ridgemount, I am thrilled with steps that they have put into place; fogging of rooms each night, regularly disinfecting resources through the day, staff wearing mask when less than 2m apart, rotation and quarantine of resources that can't be disinfected.
I feel confident taking my daughter to Ridgemount and throughout the pandemic all staff have been professional, supportive

I have to mention how impressed I have been with Ridgemount Cottage Nursery’s response to the challenges that Covid-19 has thrown to us all this year. They have continued to offer outstanding childcare (I have a preschooler and an after school child, in early years education) throughout this year even with the ever changing regulations. They have provided a safe and clean environment for my children, teaching them how to follow the increased health and safety aspects in a fun and friendly way along with providing the ability for outdoor activities in all weathers and fun learning inside when

Pros- let me start by saying the nursery itself is very clean and highly maintained. Some of the staff are very nice and friendly. helped me swap my days during covid. The app was great seeing photos of my child and what she is up to on a daily basis. My child had no complaints and seemed very happy with her group of friends and teachers. Education wise I think it's excellent and the tutors for my daughters class are friendly and helpful.
Cons- unfortunately my child was asked to be picked up or sent home numerous times whether it was due to a cough, not eating, unsettled, or even a rash. I understand

This is a fabulous nursery! They have communicated very clearly to parents regarding Covid-19. This must have been very hard indeed, to keep up with the risk management and policies that are required, but their clear emails helped simplify a tricky situation that is childcare.
My daughter arrives and leaves happy! She has been attending this nursery since she was 9 months old and she is now 2 and a half. The staff are always happy to see her and always have a smile on their faces (which really must be a challenge a times).

Excellent nursery and absolutely fantastic preschool provision. Moving our daughter here was the best decision there are never any issues with leaving her, she loves to go and is always so happy and excited when she tells us about her day.
The nursery has a lovely feel and great facilities, staff do not shy away from allowing children to progress with writing skills and encourage it which we love and had issues with at a previous nursery. I have no concerns with this one starting school as Ridgemount have been great with preparation. We wish our eldest had attended!

Friendly and professional staff (some of them are experienced teachers). Our child has had opportunities to do different indoor and outdoor activities. Very good feedback about his development. They have shown very good flexibility and understanding when we needed to make some changes in our schedule. We highly recommend!

My daughter goes to this nursery and absolutely loves it! She has really grown in confidence since attending and always asks when she is going back when I pick her up. The children do a wide range of activities and have a lot of outdoor space and play equipment which my little one loves. The staff are all really friendly and attentive and always let me know what my daughter has been up to and how she has been throughout the day. Can't recommend Ridgemount enough!

My son has been at Ridgemount since he was 14 months old and he absolutely loves it!
The staff and environment are fantastic!
Over the last 3 years he has learnt many skills that will help him move on confidently into school life.
My 9 month old daughter has just started and we really wouldn't want her to go anywhere else!!

We have two of our children attend here currently and our eldest attends after school club. We couldn't be more pleased with the nursery as a whole.
The staff are lovely and extremely welcoming to both the parents and children and always make sure they let you know what the children have been up to during the day.
The days are structured well with a good amount educational fun to free play. Meals are prepared on site and are always healthy.
I personally like how the nursery have adopted various electronic platforms to share information with parents, whether it be photos of the children playing

My daughter whom is 3 attends this nursery. Since her attending, I have noticed a dramatic change/ improvement in her communication skills, speech, sharing, counting, overall behaviour and creativity side flourish. The staff are always friendly and easy to talk to, every week I have paintings and craft work to hang on my fridge and my daughter is always excited to inform me of her adventures and things she been doing throughout the day. The facilities they have are overwhelming, the climbing frame being my daughter’s favourite!! They are always happy and attentive every single time we arrive
