Welcome to Hugo & Holly Day Nursery, an innovative nursery in Gloucester city centre with a slightly different approach to childcare and education. Our approach is closely linked to Reggio Emilia principles. We encourage children to think creatively, to be inquisitive and to explore. A wide range of resources and facilities provide a stimulating environment for children from birth to five years.
There are two Hugo & Holly Day Nurseries in Gloucester. They are owned and managed by Sarah Scott, an experienced teacher and mother, who is supported by a team of highly trained and dedicated staff. Both nurseries have achieved an outstanding OFSTED report (Brunswick Square and Heathville Road) and 5 stars for the Scores on the Doors national food hygiene rating scheme.

Services
At Hugo & Holly Day Nursery we aim to give children an excellent foundation, which will have a lasting impact on their development and give them a life-long appreciation for learning. The potential within each child is valued and built upon, leading to the development of enquiring minds and confident, happy young people.
All children have the right too protection from neglect, physical, emotional and sexual abuse. All professionals and members of the public have a responsibility for the protection of children and reporting concerns about a child's welfare or safety. If you have any concerns regarding a child, please contact one of our designated child protection officers or a member of the management team immediately.
Our first outstanding Hugo & Holly city centre day nursery was established in 2004 in Gloucester's tranquil Brunswick Square. The nursery has a maximum capacity of 55 children. We are rated as an outstanding nursery by OFSTED and have consistantly been awarded 5 stars for our kitchen. Brunswick Square garden is an ideal location for parents working in the city centre or at the nearby Ecclesiastical Insurance Company and the docks.
Following the success of Hugo & Holly Day Nursery at Brunswick Square, in 2006 we opened a second nursery, conveniently located on Heathville Road, where we have capacity for 42 children. At Heathville Road the relaxed atmosphere created by our experienced staff is reflected in the happiness and development of the children.
Both premises of Hugo & Holly Day Nursery are spacious with several different rooms as well as outdoor space to encourage movement, creativity and exploration. In each nursery we have a kitchen and dining room where we provide the children with fresh food every day. Each age group has a base room. There is a gym room with soft gym equipment and a room for sleeping and quiet time.

Report
My daughter has only been attending Hugo & Holly Pre School for 2 months. She absolutely loves going and has made many new friends. The staff are so welcoming and attentive to the children and plan excellent activities, trips and themes for the children to get involved in. I love that I can view my child’s progress through tapestry and can update the nursery myself with progress/milestones she achieves at home. I did feel quite anxious about leaving my daughter with someone other then family but the staff did an excellent job of settling my worries and said I could ring up and check on
