As a qualified, experienced guitar teacher I have developed a successful, dynamic learning system. It covers all the requirements to pass the Grade 1 up to and including Grade 5 for the Electric Guitar and Step 1 up to and including Grade 5 for the Acoustic Guitar as required by the RGT / London College of Music exam syllabus.

Mr Rivers you've have given me several keys which have opened up the guitar for me, I no longer look at it the same. I look at a guitar now and feel like "I'm winning". Gordon has taught me more in a few months than any other guitar teacher I've had before. I find his way of teaching means I understand so can pick things up much better; it makes sense.
If 2 consecutive lessons are cancelled - No more lesson bookings will be offered, and any existing lessons will be cancelled. Please bear in mind that though a lesson stops after 30 minutes for a student, my work for that same student only just begins, and lasts until their next lesson, and so on and so forth.

Gordon is a knowledgeable and patient teacher, and I could not have wished for a better person to learn guitar from. He has taught me lots of theory and techniques but never forgets to include the fun stuff as well. Gordon is also a very kind teacher, and a brilliant guitarist who has taught me way more about playing than I previously knew. Liam 11.

I have come a long way with my guitar lessons from since we first met, he is a kind, considerate, and very enthusiastic 'people' person that puts you at ease with the task at hand. Having tried to self learn I wasn't really making any progress so contacted Gordon, without regret. Gordon is very patient as my fingers and brain seem to operate at different speed to each other (!) and I also ask lots of questions. I have learnt much from Gordon and hope to continue lessons when Covid reestrictions are lifted. Gordon has always been available outside of structured lesson time to answers questions and help clrify things.

We started our journey with no set agenda. Our son had plenty of free time and we wanted to fill it with something creative and musical and not time spent on video games. We are not a musical family but we did acquire a cheap eBay junior sized guitar. We found Rivers Way Guitar Tuition very close by, and offering free introductory lessons. So we popped along in a casual fashion, with no expectations.
